Though I loved the idea of the Tiger, I think this is a bit more doable and Im looking forward to hear of the progress. Keep up the good work
Indeed. It is a long term project, because of the money. I actually had saved up a few bucks to start on the metalwork, but then I found another gun I just had to have, and so half the savings were spent. Gun collecting is sometimes a vice I tell you.
I can't be bothered to read the above posts, your problem may have been fixed. However if it has you are going to need two ESCs (electronic speed controllers) to convert the signals from the receiver into pulses to the motors to get the vehicle to move.
The RX (receiver) will work on between 4.8 and 6v. The ESCs will provide the power to the RX so that isn't a problem any more. If you choose to use a cheaper way of controlling your motors such as a variable resistor controlled by a servo then a dedicated RX pack is the way forward which will plug directly into your RX. Should you have no spare channels with all servos plugged in you can use a Y-Lead to add you RX battery in.
Things to consider with the project if you haven't already is what will be the weight of the turret? As you will either need a motor driving a gearbox or an extremely powerful winch servo to enable it to rotate.
Forget the fun part about what projectiles it will shoot etc if you haven't got your control systems sorted yet.
