How to remain anonymous on internet?
As in thread, I would like to get any advices regarding staying anonymous on internet FROM POLICE.
Lets say i wanna make some cash online on site similar to ebay. I can get some free Wi-Fi and change my MAC address but I would prefer to do it from my own house since its more comfortable and there's long way to get to free internet here.
Should I use TOR? maybe Ipredator? which VPN would be best? maybe some proxys? what's your advice? and when connecting to anything,is there anything more I should change than mac address?

Wardrive and don't post any clues linking to your identity on the internet

Re: How to remain anonymous on internet?
SSH tunneling has worked pretty well for me, esp if you go through multiple nodes. Police can subpoena records, sure, but there's not really any proxy scheme where they can't except tor (well they can, but it's not practical/effective) and tor is impractical in most cases. SSH tunneling is cheap/free and pleasantly flexible.
P.S. Wardriving is also good.

Re: How to remain anonymous on internet?
Because you want to stay anonymous from the police you should take extra precaution. The issue with SSH tunneling through random servers is that most likely the police won't even have to subpoena the server owner, but rather just ask them for their logs.
Using random proxy's is also not advised because police can obtain logs via subpoena or polite inquiry.
The problem with TOR is that exit nodes may be sniffing with traffic and if you are dealing with online e-currency accounts such as paypal, someone could steal your money.
You will probably want to use a VPN services that supports PPTP, is located outside of US jurisdiction, and has a history of not coroporating with law enforcement. One such company is IVACY.com.
Using a VPN and proxy(s) is also not a bad idea given the proxy is located out of US jurisdiction. The proxy(s) help obscure your trail more, and even if law enforcement get their logs, you still have the VPN protecting you.
But what happens if the VPN decides to cooperate with law enforcement?
As suggested, using public wifi with a spoofed MAC address is always recommended. However this is inconvenient. To maintain this level of anonyminity and remain in the comfort of your home invest in a usb wifi dongle ($35), a wifi biquad antenna ($20), and a Dish Network dish (free off of craigslist). You can use these to extend your wifi range to several miles in a city, and even more in more rural areas. You can then connect to public wifi, or use the linux distro Backtrack to hack a WEP encrypted router.
Now you are about 99.99% anonymous. For law enforcement to track you they would have to trace you through your proxies, and VPN, then physically access the router you hacked and download the log files (if logs were even enabled). Then they would wait for you to reconnect to the same router, identifying you by mac address, then triangulate your position with expensive hardware.
The only thing you want to keep in mind with your situation is that if you use a VPN your ip will constantly change. I know ebay and paypal through a fit if you change ips and require all sorts of information like phone number, id scans, address confirmation, bank info. You can prevent this buy ssh tunnleing through the same server or buy using a static vpn.
Also note that you will want to use a paid VPN. Free VPNs might not be as secure.

Convenience is not a friend of security... one thing to always keep in mind when it comes to computers.

First rule is you're never 100% save, there are both theoretical and real attacks on the TOR network that could compromise every node. But using TOR will generally make it difficult enough to pursue you that no law enforcement agency will take the time to hunt you down for some CP or buying drugs from mediocre vendors.
