To many losers out there with no history of success like myself looking to work for slave wages. I'm trying to find ANYTHING, sales/retail/customer service. And I keep getting stuck with labor jobs for $10/hour that are to hard for me to work more then 1 day.

When there's an ad, and I apply. I should be able to get the fucking job.

So I did a test, I put up fake advertisements to just generic work I'm looking for.

I got 50+ resumes sent to me in the FIRST day. Then 10-30 more after that each day. How am I supposed to fill the position they need with so much competition?

Saddest part is I live in Vancouver, BC. A place highly recognized for lots of employment, what a joke.

Or if you're applying for positions that require talking to people it could be that your english is too coherent. It's tough right now to even get those min. wage-slave jobs because they're already being filled by physically incapable women and slacking weenie kids with no real world experience.

Have youse considered Albertie/Sask? If you have friends/rellies on the prairies that could take you in while you get on your feet it would help. Have you looked online for job postings in Calgary/Eddietown/The 'toon?

I believe that they have the hotter economies. Though if you follow the news, the media are quite happy to give positive and negative news about housing starts/prices or jobs on the same day. They do this week after week with no sense of ironing to make such acts smooth and wrinkle free.

i haven't found it too difficult...i got tired of working in fast food so i found two jobs i would be interested in. helping set up for weddings, and sanding cabinets...i got both offered, i took the cabinet sanding job. u just gotta sit up straight, not look like ur faking it, talk about positive things, and just be that guy that everyone likes you know? just for the interview at least

If you mean the government then yes. With all of the rules they impose on society it reduces the number of jobs in the market and prevents people from employing people. Also picking and choosing which companies fail and which are propped up with money from it's citizens.

Likely though you mean the "rich" and it is just as likely you can't explain why. The "rich" (anyone who invests their money) create the jobs and increase the standard of living for everyone (in a country where poor means having an iphone), through capital investment.

It's a numbers game. You just have to apply for as many as you can and eventually you'll get interviews. In 2008 when I was last looking for a job I had to give my résumé to like 200 companies before I got a job.

Yeah I think that might be the way to go. Start somewhere young, stick with it for awhile and get good at it. You make a name for yourself and the work becomes second nature. There's always opportunities to move up and expand your skillset if you're paying attention.
