Default my new old gun

I worked a gun show this weekend, and toqards the end was a tad wistful, not having seen any bargains--I missed the close-out sale one dealer had. So this guy comes up to my booth, checks out the high-end a/o's, asks if I take trades.

I say, yeah, kinda dubiously--and he pulls out this Iver Johnson top-break revolver chambered for 38 S & W.. Dunno exactly how old it is, but it is stamped with a 1908 patent. I tried not to show the awe and wonder I felt--I love those things, always wanted one, couldn't afford it.

We went around for a while, and finally settled on giving him three knives in exchange for the guns. I paid around $50 for the knives wholesale--the gun is maybe worth $200.

But wait--there's more! He told me of a near-by dealer with a box of ammo for sale for it--38 S & W is kind of a rare caliber--so I went to that guy for ammo, and he had some great deals on guns, which he was selling privately--no paperwork required. So I bought a .380 auto Lorcin and a .380 auto Davis from him for a total of $180.

For some reason, I have an abundance of .38 S&W. Never have owned one.

I love break open revolvers

Yeah. I have always wanted a Schofield, like a new Uberti produciton one. I always wondered why Jessie James preferred them over the colt. They look like they wouldn't balance as well, but what do I know?

My friend has a Webly in .455. Can't find ammo. And he is too lazy/poor to have it rechambered to .45lc or something akin- if that would even be a safe practice.

Amen--the phrase "in your dreams" springs to mind.

Canada is very picky about handgun ownership, and besides, it is illegal for me to send guns through the mail OR any other way, since I don't have an FFL.

As a gray market gun dealer, I skirt around as many laws as I can without actually breaking any.

This is pretty close, but mine has a slightly smaller grip and longer barrel.
