Default There's a Squirrel Nest in my Engine Bay!

Little fuckers made a nest in my car, and stashed their nuts up there.

Here is where they stashed their nuts/ made their nest

Here is the liner of my hood, there was already a hole in it, when I bought the car, but the little critters tore it up even more. I don't know where the hole originally came from.

Here is some ripped up foam in my engine bay, along with some acorn shells

Here's and acorn shell, they literally poured out when my mechanic popped the hood earlier today.

Now I guess I have to put some rat poison up there or something...

Smoke them out. A little fogger should get them out no problem.

I should imagine that driving the car regularly will probably scare them off.

Unless you drive the car with them in there, in which case they'll probably die.

Fuck me - the 'My Pictures' folder on my computer is nearly 75gb. My Music is only 11gb... how did I manage that?

I have less than 100 megabytes of pics, over 20 gigs of music though.

^ my computer has been calculating how many files are in 'My Pictures' for well over five minutes.

EDIT

Only 12,000 files apparently, I thought that six years of saving basically every cool picture I can find would yield more than that. Also, I realised that I have a lot of videos saved in there too, which is probably where the 'other' 65 gigs went.

I drive the car everyday, I don't understand when those little critters are making their nests.

Weird. I don't think you could fit a squirrel trap under the bonnet so I don't really know what to do.

Get some underseal and spray it all around your engine bay (don't get it on the engine or exhaust though). It's horrible sticky smelly stuff and the squirrels won't want to go near it, plus it'll rustproof your car. Engine oil would probably do the same job. You might not want to do this to a nice shiny car though.

Or seal off your engine bay with barbed wire.

Set some rat traps under your car when you park at night. Squirrels are usually considered pests.

Reminds me of the time my buddy stored his car over the winter in his garage; started it up for the first time in spring and the belt was squealing like a pig on steroids. Shut it off to see what was going on; there was a dead rat attached to the serpentine belt, getting caught on the idler pulley.

I would go check it out at night, when its probably sleeping. A while ago when I was doing some work on my car I had my valve cover off for a few days and the head covered with a rag. A squirrel decided it was a nice place to make a nest so I left my hood unlatched one night and went out later that night and scared it off. It never came back.
