Robbing police armories out in Bumfuck

So with the news of lots of small towns and cities downsizing or outright eliminating their police departments due to budget woes and whatnot, I've been thinking that this could make for some good opprotunities to score weapons and ammo.

A) Find some pissant-small or underfunded sherriff's office or police department in some backwater out in fucking nowhere, 2-5 dudes tops. Even if most of the officers got sacked due to downscaling they probably've kept their armories fully stocked.
B) Do a bit of recon to get the lay of the place, figure out where most dudes at the office are stationed during the hours, that sort of stuff.
C) Wait for most of the officers to go out on patrol or head out for the night or whatever so that only one is on duty at the office, cut the phone lines and rush the poor dumb bastard working the late shift. A flashbomb or some teargas and the like should do wonders to weaken his resistance and prevent him from being able to raise the alarm.
D) Get the keys to the armory once the pig's secure, open 'er up and loot every single gun and box of ammo you can. Haul him to the cells and lock his ass up for the night, then get the fuck out of Dodge.
E) Use the guns liberated from the cops to get even more guns and ammo and continue until you're stocked for whatever you've got planned.

I imagine this could be super-fucking-useful if you ever wanted to pull a big and messy job or just start killing cops and other people at random, since you could just use one gun for each job/killing and then dump it and start using another. Long as you ain't stupid and handle it sans gloves there's nothing to trace you with.

This is why I hate bad ideas. Instead of discussing feasible crimes half the threads are about crimes that nobody on here would have the balls or resources to do.
