Skyrim gameplay thread
That other thread's full of assholes arguing about irrelevant shit.
So, we need one for people actually playing the game. Because it's cool as shit, and i have a feeling that most of us are encountering completely different shit, depending on where we went, and what we did.
I've been playing a pure mage, necromancer style (conjuror/destruction), so i went North as fast as i could. Carriages are full of win, grabbed all the quick travels to the capitals which has made life a lot easier.
I ran barefoot across a blizzard wracked sea full of ice floes, after doing a high dive from the side of the mages college, a few hundred feet above the fjord.
I had a dog named barnabas following me all over the palce, as part of some quest to the other side of skyrim, but the fucker kept barking and ruining my sneaks, plus every once in awhile he'll just start nudging you around for the hell of it. So i left him on top of a mountain.
I released a werewolf that ate a little kid, and helped him hunt down the hunters sent after him. Netted a ring that's supposed to help me turn wolf more often, but apparently the only wolves are a bunch of gay "companions", who get uppity when they find out you use magic.
I have not contracted vampirism, though i'm seriously thinking about trying to.
I haven't been stomped by a mammoth yet, or clubbed like a baby seal by an irate giant.
....that's all i got, breaks over, back to playing.

Re: Skyrim gameplay thread
Combat mechanics in this game work like this:
-Swing weapon
-Weapon obviously goes through enemy target
-No damage is applied because your weapon "level" isn't high enough.
Grind for six weeks, 24/7.
-swing weapon
-everything dies in game
No thanks I'd rather play a game that has good combat mechanics as opposite to MMO style combat mechanics that originated in the 1980s.

Re: Skyrim gameplay thread
you can scale damned near anything with a bit of care. i chased a dragon down a cliff earlier.
dragon fights on a mage aren't really all that epic so far.... i pop an elemental, wait for it to land, run alongside and fireball the shit out of it.
what kind of dragons aren't immune to fire?

skyrim is just minecraft with better graphics. push button to autoattack, run in, swing, run back out, repeat until enemy is dead. yawn boring

Re: Skyrim gameplay thread
I like skyrim.
Only thing I would change is remove fast travel. I see why they didn't though.(console noobs)
