There was a whole bunch of funny business with a particular person spamming and disrupting things - I remember seeing a post by snoopy on zoklet about how it should have been dealt with better and thanks to this failure totse is gone.

Well, I'm assuming after TWENTY YEARS it just got to be a pain in the ass to run. Think about it, he started off as a dialup BBS, which suggest that Jeff knows his shit about dialup BBSs. Do any of you honestly think he knew shit about PHP? He barely knew his shit when it came to CGI! The thrill of having a site that he controlled every aspect of had became something unobtainable for him, so he pulled that plug. You have to keep in mind he has to be pushing 50 by now too.
