oh and Tach, theres quite a few rappers today rapping about the cheapening of the industry and all that sociopolitical jazz going on today as well. They're just not as popular. I mean it comes down to a matter of taste many people will hate lil wayne because hes mainstream but his old shit was so fuckin gangster. Also I'll never understand why people listen to rap for meaning if I listen to rap I want to hear about getting money and big booty bitches not politics or whatever. If I want music with meaning I'll listen to white people music.

very true. There are some weezy tracks that are absolutely amazing. Its over zealously declared that he is trash but his popularity shouldnt diminish what talent he has clearly shown in some of his work.

Plus he did change the game immensely as far as the market goes for what sells. Brought the rolling vibe and this new wave of hip hop into the picture when the majority of the mainstream was T.I and Jay Z type stuff back then. That alone was better then enduring another decade of the shit that was consuming the airwaves back then.
