Default A Chance to Make Some Money on Hard Drives

Not sure if anyone's interested, but I've just been browsing around, looking at black friday deals and whatnot. I saw this :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822145299

it's $50 with the promo code EMCJJHE47 which is well below the market standard for a 500GB Hitachi drive. Considering the recent flooding in Thailand and spike in HD prices, you could pick up a few and offload them on ebay or craigslist or the like in a month or so for two to three times that price. A little hunting around might turn up some even better deals.

Just thought I'd let everyone know.

$50 isn't that much lower than regular market price for a 500GB Hitachi. Your margins on it will be awful.

Also if you wait too long you risk the factories starting back up - they've been flooded for months now and have to come back online sometime.

anyone technically savvy enough to need to buy a hard drive by itself is going to buy from these places i'd imagine.

You'd be surprised. In the last month I've seen comparable drives go in the 100 dollar range. As for factories restarting, it's pretty doubtful there's going to be a meaningful increase in drive availability before the year is out.
