Default Binaural Beats

Well I've done all sorts of drugs before but those days are over with so don't say to me "Go find some real drugs" or "This doesnt work" because I really think that if you play certain frequencies or tones of sound at different volume with a proper set of stereo headphones that you CAN alter your brainwaves and make yourself more relaxed or have more energy.

I just tested out this audio clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBKGWyDgFaQ
and although I didnt feel physicly energized I did feel somewhat more alert and "awake".I wasnt expecting to feel anything but I did all I did was read an article on wiki to take my mind of the beat while I was listening to it.
Heres the article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binaural_beats

Im going to be looking around and researching this a bit more.I've heard of I-Doser and tried it when I had a shitty pair of headphones a few years ago but I must of not been doing it right.
Does anyone have any experience of any kind on this?

I've tried I-Doser too, I listened to multiple "doses" all the way through and it didn't work at all. Either I wasn't in the right frame of mind, I'm not susceptible to it or it's bullshit.

Binaural Beats are nice. I use brainwave generator. One of my favorite ones files is shaman dream. It buts me into strange trances. I have 10 different ones on my ipod each with a purpose and they do work. One file makes me have vivid dreams.

I experimented with it a while back. I listened to a track that consisted of white noise and an embedded binaural beat. I then went to bed. The experience was quite interesting.

I never fell asleep. My mind stopped right in between the region of consciousness and unconsciousness. Its like I was awake, but I was dreaming at the same time.

I cant really explain it. You would have try it yourself.
Remember though, sleep. When your mind is in a weak state, that is when you need to listen to it.

It helps lower you brainwaves to a meditative state. Try it when baked. Try not to rely on the sound or the weed though.

If the desired mental state is achieved who cares if it works by placebo?

I guess I could go for that. I always used the brainwave generator, and it never worked until I was high or somethin. Then it would always work much better.

People that are:

- subject to any forms of seizures or epilepsy
-using pacemakers
- suffering from cardiac arrhythmia or other heart disorders
- taking stimulants, psychoactive drugs, or tranquilizers

Really should not be useing these brainwave generators you could most likely trigger something bad to happen.

On another note possible uses could be:
-Relaxation and Meditation
-Enhancing learing capabilities
-Inducing sleep
-Increase in awareness and focusing attention

If you believe in this kind of stuff some say it can help with OBE (out of body experience),Remote Viewing and Mental/Astral projection.

State Frequency range State of mind
Delta 0.5Hz - 4Hz Deep sleep
Theta 4Hz - 8Hz Drowsiness (also first stage of sleep)
Alpha 8Hz - 14Hz Relaxed but alert
Beta 14Hz - 30Hz Highly alert and focused

Note, however, that just passively listening to binaural beats does not necessarily alter your state of consciousness. For example, willingness and ability to relax and focus attention affects how effective the binaural beat stimulus is for inducing state changes....

Brain entrainment works, but it won't get you 'high'. I find they're best used as a meditation aide, to relax you or reduce stress. It won't make you high, though.

I use an entrainment program (a combination of binaural beats, isochronic tones, and monaural beats). There are different brainwave states that correspond to different states of consciousness. I've been using an 'alpha wave' program, alpha waves correspond to a state of relaxed wakefulness. I've been using it simply to relax myself so meditation is easier, as relaxation is pretty much integral to meditating properly.

But I repeat, they will not get you high. That's not what they're useful for. But they do work.

I Highly agree on this. Although there could be more to this. Some cultures use drums to induce trances and travel to other realms.

Any one got a shamanic drum : )

Yes, that's true. I think that might correspond to the 'theta' brainwave state, which is typically associated with creativity, light sleep, hypnogogia, and enhanced learning. Sometimes when I meditate I think I feel myself beginning to go into 'theta' and then I sort of have weird, brief and very vivid dreamlike experiences. I still wouldn't really describe it as a high, though, but maybe I'm using that word too narrowly.
