The music industry encompasses artists so that argument doesn't float for them. The recording industry comprises of publishers, producers, distributors etc and for them your argument holds true.

Since the 50's/60's (when marketing music starting to become a profitable business venture) music has become more and more about demographic marketing and less and less about art. Therefore us, as the consumer, have no problem treating music as if it holds little to no value because we treat it as consumerist marketing not as art (and let's face it, that's what most of it is). As soon as art is consumed by business, too many concessions are made and it ceases to be art.

Business won't be able to control music so tightly like they have in the past for some time to come thanks to affordable recording and distribution techniques. What this means is that we can look forward to music (hopefully) gravitating back into the hands of true artists and artists again being poor and having to produce music for art's sake, not for money.

Addendum: Even if girls aren't very good looking, I still like to watch their boobs bounce when they're running.
