Smash and grab a jewelry store
What do you think of a smash n grab on a jewelry store? If done very well. Crook should be all dressed up in black head to toe. Use hammer to break in. Stuff as much jewelry in your bag as you can. Go to getaway car n dispose of all evidence. Whats your opinion in something like this? Would it work? Is there profit in it? Do people usually get caught doing these, of so, how? Post any info, comment, or knowledge you have on the subject.

Yeah, but you would have to have some kind of fence. Not totally sure how far this technology has gone, but here you go.

Hi, what about the area where the work will be done? What about local pigs and so on? Also, will the job be worth it? I know a LOT of jewellers in the UK keep the valuable stuff in a safe at the back of the shop and leave shitty ones out on display, or if the good products are on display, they're packed up b4 closing time. And the getaway vehicle and all, it'll all have to be disposed off once the job is done if it's anywhere like the UK 'cos of all the cameras and stuff.

Re: Smash and grab a jewelry store
I personally think that in this kind of hypothetical situations, if someone is going risk their ass, they should aim higher. If the emphasis is on it being a 1 man job and without detection, then it MIGHT work out but will need some good scouting as otherwise, after going through all that trouble, if the money's little, it's of no use. BUT if a team can be put together, maybe someone should hypothetically hit a diamond store...
And yes, even daylight smash n grab works too, in London only in 2009 or 2010 there was a massive robbery of similar kind.

Re: Smash and grab a jewelry store
Keep in mind that diamonds themselves are somewhat difficult for a private individual to sell, even legitimately-acquired ones.

Re: Smash and grab a jewelry store
most jewelery stores take everything out of the display case and put it in a safe before they close......that may pose a problem for you

Yeah, because some lulz and a candy bar is worth a few years behind bars.

Re: Smash and grab a jewelry store
Aaaeeehh smash-and-grabs seem really risky. As many have said, jewels seem like they'd be hard to get fenced. Getting away with petty theft over and over again for years sounds like it'd be preferable to breaking and entering and grand theft/larceny charges if apprehended.

Re: Smash and grab a jewelry store
Its really no biggie.
Aim for stores like JCPennys that dont have the big metal gates that slide down at night.
These megastores dont typically take their merchandise down at night, i know for a fact that the JCPennys in stockton doesnt.
I know a few guys, who know a few guys(lol) who hit the JCPennys and grabbed a whole display box of crosses, each valued at around 1000-3000$, the case held about 50 crosses, maybe a bit fewer.
The smashed in all the gold cases and sweeped the necklaces all out with an industrial strength vacuum.
Sounds fucking rediculous, but they left there with an insane ammount of gold, they just bagged it all, left the vacuum, and cut. the whole job took 3 minutes, and only took 3 people.
Amazing 1000000$ plus robbery in less than 3 minutes.
Insane shit, but JCPennys doesnt care, they let their insurance company do the worrying for them.

Use the roof entrance.

that's because he failed to mention that any stores that leave jewelery on display in a shop window at night, leave replicas of the actual jewelery that they sell.
i facepalmed the moment i read someone mention doing this at night, cause at night all jewelery of any value goes into the biggest ass safe you ever saw.

You think it's impossible to find a store that leaves out expensive jewelry at night?

i think if its left out at night then its all fakes for display purposes only. you'll still get ten years for S&Ging it all the same tho. you just won't get paid and get to have that 3 day crack/whore binge before you go to jail.

They dont put shit like that in the newspaper, shit like that they dont put out the word, so the criminals will be dumb and try to turn it in to local pawn shops/gold exchange places.

you have lost your mind.
If you steal a bunch of worthless shit the punishment is going to be MUCH less severe.
Thats the difference inbetween 2nd degree burgulary, and grand larceny+burgulary+qualified/grand theft.
Thats a difference inbetween doing a year or 2 in jail or 20+ years.
Thats funny shit dude.
If you steal big money, its much, much, MUCH worse.

it's the intent dumbass. it's obvious to a 3 year old that you never intended to rob fake jewelery in the first place. who the fuck would do that? so your intention would have been grand larceny/theft etc. and if more than one of you is involved then they will probably word it as conspiracy to commit grand larceny.
it's like the difference between murder and attempted murder. the sentences differ very little.
it's like if you ran into a bank, pulled a gun and told the teller to hand over the money. if the cops ran in at that point and over powered you and took you off, it would be no different to if they caught you five mile up the road with the money next to you in a bag. it's all about the intent to the DA and judge.
...and you're the one who msg'd me that time trying to tell me i never been to jail and didn't know what i was talking about. have another facepalm dumbass

How do people get caught doing this type of thing though? I see it as pretty hard to screw up something like this. Be quick, don't brag, sell the product far away from the area you got it.

real life is never that simple. everything from have a go hero's at the scene to people in your group making a stupid mistake like spitting on the floor without thinking. to the guy you sell the shit to selling you out for any number of reasons. there are so many things that can and often do go wrong that there wouldn't be enough space on zoks server to list them all. ever heard the expression 'need to have your wits about you'? never more true than in the crime game. in fact i bet any money that was where it came from.

Definitely, that's true. The guys just can't afford to screw up something like this. But I think this is one of the better crimes. High risk, but high profit. I hear of 45 second smash and grabs where the crew gets away with $100,000 of gold all the time. Just don't screw up. Like you said, spit on the floor can fuck you over big time, or if you cut yourself on the glass, or sumthing. A lot can go wrong. And what is that saying lol? I don't think I've ever heard it.

Re: Smash and grab a jewelry store
i think its keep your wits about you iirc. it just means you need to be ready to deal with anything, as in your likely to encounter the unexpected at a moments notice.
as you just said yourself tho, its high risk. that means a high chance of fucking up. fuck up on that and you can easily kiss the next ten years goodbye at least, if not double that.
i think a problem a lot of people doing this sort of thing have, when the adrenaline is pumping, they don't know when to walk away. in the heat of it something happens, they feel invincible and think they've come that far and think they got to see it through. that's usually a big mistake, a few seconds in those situations can mean the difference between getting away and getting caught. you got to be able to decide when its a no go and when to walk away.

I don't think that a crime like this would land you 20 years in prison, but I see what you're saying though. It is VERY easy to fuck up in that 60 seconds of action time, and that little mistake could fuck up your life.
