How to do cash advances just from cc

I recently got scammed for about 80 bux trying to buy vccs from this one dude. But I gave him a greendot cc number and all info that i use for scamming. When i looked on the statement it said he did a cash advance.

How is this possible?

it was on a different forum, I have a msr from my fake id days and plenty of blank cards but I thought you had to do different tracks and how would he know which track to put it under?
