Only time I hitched in the winter it was a failed expedition and I turned around and went home. I've hitched from Regina, Sask all the way up to Vancouver Island alone. Also done that trip with a friend once, bit stopped in Vancouver. This summer I plan on taking my girlfriend around to BC to pick some fruit/have a great adventure. All in all hitchhiking is a cool form of travel, of course it's not for everyone but under the right circumstances it can be a great time!

also it didn't get into sub zero temps at all where I am this winter, this winter has actually been really mild, I barely even remember the temps dipping to the single digits this year! last year I remember a few days in mid to late January that were like -3 or -4F in the morning.
