We've got shit today that people in 1911 weren't expecting until 400 years in the future...the rate of advancement, technologically, economically and socially, is mind blowing.

Nice video. I wish they'd included the detonation of the Tsar Bomba though.

Wow I feel dumb. A lot of wars and battles on there I was totally ignorant about knowing.
Also, they never mention columbine but they mention a tornado outbreak in fucking Oklahoma. Is that considered a more tragic event?

Keep in mind that this is what one person found important, influenced like everyone else by media and whatnot.
A LOT more things happened in the last 100 years.

So much for humanity being advanced, notes Rolf. It is time to stop pretending that humans do not excel at being violent creatures of war and dominance, proclaims Rolf.

Technology brings the growth, but the fuel behind it all has been the same since the dawn of industry to which no suitable replacements for exist.
As it goes, so goes the growth and the temporary artificially increased capacity.

We should make our own video and compile what we think happened in the last 100 years.

Re: 100 years in 10 minutes
This video, while cool, concentrates waaay too heavily on negative stuff; it provides quite a skewed view. I watched the first couple minutes and already I can think of maybe half a dozen scientific and technological advancements that were totally skipped in the video, but have - at the time or since - saved hundreds of thousands to millions of lives.

Are you referring to fossil fuels? If so, plenty of replacements exist; they're just not quite as cheap.

I'd help.
Maybe we could get a thread going, make some categories(technology/science, humanities, literature, etc) and people could start suggesting things. Then we'd have to find clips, info, edit it and upload it.
Maybe the History forum could help.

Not as cheap, not as scalable, not as dependable, not as adaptable, not as plentiful, and not as compatible.
Basically they are inferior to fossil fuels in just about every respect. The main thing that they have going for them is availability, and that's only when fossil fuels start to become scarce.
And the reason many of these alternatives are not as cheap and will likely never be is because their price is contingent on the overall cost of energy/doing business, which is predicated upon by hydrocarbon energy. It's called the Law of Receding Horizons.
Many alternatives people use right now that are cheaper are that way because they exist on a substrata of subsidies. Either directly through the government, or hidden through the use of other fossil fuel energy. Energy has been extremely cheap for a long time. That is about to change, and it means nothing less than the end of our industrial civilizations as we know them.
Whether that be a good thing or a bad thing is a matter of opinion & perspective.

I'm not so sure about that...maybefor some people, but not the educted ones, and some scientist/researcher types had some pretty lofty thoughts above what we have now, take costantin chaikovsky or Robert Godard for example. and even Jules verne ok ok story writter, but still, thses guys were tallking moon bases and laser pistols, space stations, all kins of weird shit that we dont have, and if you say, oh but its just around the corner, I'm not so sure. Havent you noticed that our level of technology is stalled....we can basically only improve on what we've got-what I'm saying is that we havent had anything "big" for quite a while. where's our limiless clean abundant power source? wheres our teleport? theyre not there becausewe have to wait for some one to make some breath-taking new discovery of the nature of the universe, some super secret phenomena that will give us real power over our environment-or maybe it doesnt exist...maybe there is no hidden fundamental atomic particle that we can harness...who knows? all i'm saying is that for one I'm disapointed. The money is a big part of the problem, no money no research, no "think big" ideas like space stations, mars bases, those things are doable now, but theres no money...

Call it a "hunch" but if you take "crazy" people like Steven Greer and Alex Collier seriously, we're "not wanted" or you might say "quarantined" from species thousands of years more evolved than us, for basically "They don't respect themselves, each other, or their home planet, what use are they?" or "humans are the only ones who allow for homelessness or operate under a pyramid power structure - that is one man on top, a bunch under him"... or "when explaining the concept of money to them several times in several lectures, all they could say is 'I don't get it - why should you have to pay to live on a planet you were born on?'".
If YOU lived thousands of years in the same body, in a society that trained your kids to learn EVERYTHING in hundreds of years, then get a "job" in society serving in a way they CHOOSE to, would YOU want fucking earth humans on your planet? I don't think so.
I will say the discoveries of technological advancement will be basically rediscoveries of what the Egyptians knew - Nature's principles, based on sacred geometry the pyramid's ratios being part of that. People on youtube are pretty much piecing it together (see Les Brown). Tesla wanted the world you wanted. It's the same reason the adepts stay silent about the philosopher's stone (which I believe has something to do with the pyramids and the reason Egyptians played with gold like they played with clay): Those who cannot overcome their dark, greedy side (in this case the bankers) will never allow their light to shine (provide for everyone, free energy and freedom for all) because you can't do two things at once. Men in power these days are raised sexually condemned and perverted by a Western religious society. You're never going to see the day these people change their story. In a spiritually retarded state, which I believe humanity is in (given we cannot end homelessness or give free energy and we arrest 4 guys who tap an electric wire and grow hundreds of marijuana plants underground because flying to the moon and looking at rocks is more important, for fuck's sakes..) I personally believe, and this sounds way out there...
An immoral, unjust, animalistic, childish, immature, violent species that destroys it's own kind would destroy themselves even if they had free electricity for all. They say in the time of Gods they only died because of envy, and I firmly believe it's true. So even when we do have your free energy, in my opinion the reason Atlantis was destroyed was because of the people, not the technology itself, which was probably way more advanced. And it could be, and it will be. There's bigger riddles humanity needs to solve, IMO. We're not wanted up there. They don't need us. They don't like us. The future of energy will be based on sources available to all and have nothing to do with the money system. Is that going to change everyone into a good person who no longer has to be homeless or work? Hell no. In my opinion, tantric rites are the only passage into real spiritual maturity. Most of humanity's problems are sexual, not technological or financial. These are illusions. Mental, emotional and physical balance is not.
That's just hard work and growth. The free energy problem will definitely solve itself, in my opinion the pyramids themselves were purposely made to be as large as they are as a "reminder". This all might seem crazy now but based on my research the shape itself with the exact ratios will have everything to do with future technological advancements, it's basically already begun in my eyes.
If I were an evolved ET race and saw this video, I would say, jesus christ, it's a bunch of cavemen playing with fire. There's no way any actual clean energy society that's based on love, peace, and enjoyment would want these animals on their planet. We're either going to grow up here, and according to Fulford regarding free energy in China "The factories are already being built" or we're going to fucking destroy ourselves like Atlantis. It's not a question of when, it's a question of "if?". My personal take is to turn videos like this off, live for a positive reason, and even if it costs you the respect of your family or the biggest paycheck in the world: master a trade in life you don't mind doing that you could provide for society out of pure joy and love. Mine is 3d art and graphics. When it comes to society and money and greed, it's at the back of my mind simply because you cannot master anything until you see eternity, or timelessness, and the universe as an ocean of potentials and decisions, all on your own shoulders. Society is a mess, let someone else clean it up I say. You'll never see me in the military, that's for sure. I feel these days, especially after having fasted for periods in times, that everyone is a resident of the universe, and the universe is keeping them alive, not their family, their society, religion, or army. It's until you actually recognize this and you seek the sun more than you seek materialism, that you actually could understand how an evolved society could function.
Basically, people need more fucking sunlight. It's their own addiction to materialism and what not that has cut them off from their nature and created monstrous events like this, in my opinion. I mean I'm amazed at how many people do not feel like a resident of the universe, above and beyond anything or anyone around them. You really have to keep your head on straight to clearly understand that freedom is about making your own choices and not having them made for you, on a day to day basis. Videos like this disgust me. I always think of what I'd do in these situations, and I can't help but think I would rather go hide in the forest with nothing but a dagger than to "pick a side"... I'd definitely be a runaway.
