Default Reccomend me some R&B / hip-hop

I'm tired off listening to pissed off rappers. I need something a little more melodious. As of late I've been listening to Kayne West. I can't stop listening to 808s & Heartbreak, and I just downloaded Graduation and it's pretty damn good. Albeit his lyrics are shit, I really like the melodies and the production value.

Who else is coming out with respectable music in this genre? Gnarles Barkley? I like all the singles of his that I've downloaded, but have yet to here a completel album.

Any good trip-hop that would fit the bill?

well if you like kanye because of the upbeat/electronic sound then you should love grime -- thats basically the major influence of his last couple albums and, imo, is exponentially better than the shit hes been putting out lately. grimes all but dead but that doesnt mean there isnt tons of material out there that wouldnt at least be new to you.

i actually blame faggots like kanye and lupe for killing grime... had they not been so commercially successful with their bullshit americanized version of grime, grime artists in the uk would have stayed pure instead of trying to sound more americanized themselves.

but based on what you said you like id recommend new skepta and tinchy stryder:

and heres some other shit to start you off:

i hope it stays that way... you can tell his major influences are kanye and common -- both of whom were pretty decent before they hit it big. hes a talented kid id hate to see him throw it all away for fame and fortune like those two.

I'm not sure if this stuff is up your alley but I'll post it anyway.
There's always A Tribe Called Quest, you can't go wrong with their first three albums.
Mos Def and Talib Kweli's album 'Blackstar' is pretty easy going too.
Ummm... De La Soul?

I went through my whole collection and that's all I had that came close lol.
