what happens if i stop caring and eventually get kicked out (us army)

I just came back from Afghanistan about 3 months ago. I am not the same anymore, I am seeing behavioral health for my personal issues. My wife has simply lost her mind. She has become a depressed, violent, alcoholic. She has gotten physical with me on a couple of occasions and again has just lost her damn mind. I finally left her. I missed most of my first born's life due to this deployment and now I am going to miss more of it because of this, which is fucking my head up more. I have a lawyer and am filing for divorce this week. My company as a whole, as my 1SG put it, is "leading the batallion in bullshit", meaning we have had more DUI's and domestic violence and various issues than any other company. So because of this we are not getting days off or early days and are doing extra long PT, and staying till 10pm every night, leaving me little time to relax and think about things and so on. All of my issues are very much effecting me at work.

I have gone from being the favorite soldier of most of the NCOs and turning into just another shitbag soldier. Our command is already all over making the big cuts and all that shit, and has been big on chaptering shitbags since we have been deployed with little remorse. I am somewhat worried that if my behavior continues and worsens that I could end up on the chopping block.

What I want to know is, what happens with a chapter as opposed to just ETSing? Do I still get any benefits? My GIBill? Will ACAP still help me find work? And so on..

At this current time I really don't care what happens, as my life is shit. But it would be nice to know what my options would be if/when I experience more shit. Maybe I should have posted this in that thread where the guy is all happy he just got out of basic.

I don't know about the US, but here in Aus if you pull that shit before the end of your term you'll face prosecution and potential incarceration in a military prison.

If you get chaptered out for the kind of shit you're talking about, you're pretty much on your own. All the support network vanishes. I don't know about the GI bill. But you lose access to everything else. I think they'll let you use the computers in HHC if they shunt you there to await discharge. It's been a little while though shit might be different now.

thanks for the few replies, and special thanks to p6867 for the PM, although i didnt reply back. am just not into talking any more about it, i have to talk about it seemingly constantly to too many people. i have been depressed and seriously considering suicide lately. have been drinking again, and spent some of this (4 day) weekend awake doing lots of cocaine.

that being said, i am being sent to the promotion board next month. while it has def been a long weekend fucking up i think i am going to try to straighten up and do the best i can at that board. we will see what happens

things ended up going alright. still working on shit. but i am graduating WLC today, i passed the board a little while back, and i made cut off and will be getting my stripes may 1st....

if youre a new soldier going through shit, just work harder. the definition of resilience is a board question, you might have to use it at some point.....

Quit, support the kid, fuck a lot of girls but dont cum ever (this itself is one of the biggest "therapies" you can use), get a job that has nothing to do with military, police, mental hospital, etc... and keep these things in mind at all times:

1. They dont use money on other planets

2. Electricity is not something people will be paying for eventually on this one (and probably the main reason they dont use money on others, they're just that evolved spiritually)

3. This opens many doors as to what you "have to do" vs naturally what you WANT to do.

If you had ETERNITY to think of how you want to live or serve society, would you really be in military? ETERNITY? If you're gonna live for 20,000 years would you be happy everyday with your gun "just in case"? Ok, no wars going on. No fighting, no need to protect anything?

The future is creation. If we shape up down here, we might meet some of our universal brothers and be hand in hand with them instead of acting as territorial and psychotic as we do. They can't even believe we fight our own race (as far as they know humanity is all one race, royalty in fact 22 races) Think I'm crazy? I think anyone who has access to the disclosure project and project camelot and doesnt draw the same conclusions or want to think of what ELECTRICITY means and what it can do is nuts.

Youre not an american soldier, youre a free willed being in a universe to play in. So go play. QUIT.
