Re: Shoes for night ops?
Black/dark shoes with supports for running. Something that can handle woodland areas and urban as well. Rely on your wits more than your gear.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
I hate you night op fags but good shoes are important for everything.
Go with Magnum Viper Lows or Sport Mid Plus.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
Black Nike running shoes
Practically built for Night-ops
Or black 14 hole Dr martens which have both really sturdy soles and strong upper leather.
So if your hitting suburbs with fences, shrubbery etc they're pretty good.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
Converse Chuck Taylors are going to be your best bet for one reason: No matter what size you wear and where you live there are hundreds+ people who wear the exact same shoe with the same footprint.
They have little support and aren't that great for running, but they breathe like no other, and besides, you can just throw some Dr. Scholl's inserts in there.

Don't use shoes, just put on several layers of socks.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
GET WRESTLING SHOES!!!
Seriously, these are perfect for night ops. They're silent, easy to maneuver in, and comfy.
I have these and another pair of Adidas shoes but I forget what they're called. I used to wrestle, and when I first did night ops I decided to try them out since they seemed like a good idea, and holy fuck, they worked amazingly!

Re: Shoes for night ops?
I go for the 5-11 tactical boots...they're just as light and comfortable as sneakers, silent, and they last forever.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
I just wear these, pretty high on the ankle but still light, and very dark:
But to be honest as long as the shoes are somewhat drab colored or dark, and you can maneuver well in them, they're better than fine.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
ok, i found out the name of the spring shoes. they're called spira
http://www.spirafootwear.com/
http://www.spirafootwear.com/products_running_mens.php
Quote:
* New SpiderCage technology allows for optimal energy transfer from the heel upon impact to the midfoot for a secure and comfortable support in midstance and push-off.
* Unique 3D mesh and mono mesh combination allows for superior breathability and secure fit.
* Dual-density insole: visco elastic heel and elastic forefoot support the energy transfer created through the WaveSpring™ technology. Integrated airflow channels and strategically placed vents allow air to escape from the spring chambers improving the foot climate.
* Injection molded TPU plate with integrated spring housing allows for a smooth ride with the right amount of stability. Due to the unique properties of the WaveSpring™ technology the cushioning properties will outperform any other shoe in the market. Each spring is finely tuned to the corresponding size offering the correct amount of cushioning for each size - no other brand in the industry has addressed this need but SPIRA.
* Independent forefoot springs allow for the necessary forefoot flexibility and optimized push-off energy.
* Since the WaveSpring™ technology offers an unsurpassed longevity, the outsole was designed with a multi-density rubber compound that offers a high degree of durability.

Re: Shoes for night ops?
You should bring shoes made out of this here. You should be able to climb walls and shit with them.

Just a pair of dark trainers. Something that fits you well and is comfortable to run and move around in.
