How much do gun licenses cost in Florida? I tried looking it up but didn't get any good answers.

There's no license requirement to buy or own a gun in Florida, all you need is to not be a felon or legally certified loony, probably some other requirements like that. What you need a license for in Florida is concealed carry.

South Dakota CCW licenses are a MUST issue (if Not felon,prohibited person) and cost $10 last I checked.
And If the county's sheriff refused to issue a CCW w/o good cause the sheriff and county can be sued.
And according to state law a felons right to have a firearm are restored after 5yrs(nonviolent felony)15, after a violent felony SDCL 24-14-15.
Misdemeanor domestic violence convictions rights are restored after 1yr assuming no repeat offense during that yr.SDCL 24-14-15.2
Federal gun control (USC 18USC 922(g)(9) etc states that if the state gov restores an individuals rights he/she can answer no if they have ever been convicted on form 4473. Ive heard thru a police dispatcher theres a push in the state(SD) senate to remove the need for a CCW license altogether.Meaning anyone who can legally own a firearm may carry concealed.Not yet law but this is one of the most gun friendly states in the union.In fact SD law(unenforcable and my take is its a poke in the fedgovs eye) states every citizen must own a firearm. And the state has/had a lawsuit against fedgov that any firearm made in SD is not governed by the fedgov since it was never in 'interstate commerce' constitutional clause us gov uses to reg. guns/other products) it may have gone to supreme court.Meaning no gun control other than what state SD sees fit.
If you enjoy privacy and freedom( as much as can be had these days) get west of the mississippi, east of the rockys.Down south I hear is Ok as well.

On the topic, open carry used to be legal in Florida but now its only legal if you're "lawfully hunting, fishing, camping or target shooting." Hm, if I lived in a tent could I open carry all the time then?

Same deal in CA. I was taking the handgun safety test and I almost got a question wrong because I'd forgotten it's totally legal to carry a loaded handgun while camping. In other news, putting a black stock on your 10/22 still a felony.

Say I make a rubber band gun with some military surplus stock, maybe put a bayonet on it, would they arrest me for it in CA?
