Wrong. Dead wrong. There is more music produced today than there has at any point in the past. The vast majority of music has a very low commercial factor. What you hear on the radio might not be art of the highest order, but there is so much astounding music being made now if you're willing to do a little looking for it.

I never said all of it was good. As a percentage of all music, good music has probably gone down somewhat. Fortunately we have increasingly sophisticated means of separating the wheat from the musical chaff, and as such there is an increased amount of quality music which is readily available.
