but nah, it was a full on investigation and controlled delivery for me, most people would be years in jail according to my barristers, but fortunately i'm legitimately fucked up enough in the mind and apparently have enough "potential" that I should not be imprisoned. Nah unlike the U.S., a federal charge is no worse than a state charge. It just means you violated a separate class of laws. Plus, unless you're a real badass, they usually pass it off the to Director of Public Prosecutions, who is the state prosecution office.

No, there was no reason for them to be suspected. The warrant, which I believe they had, had a very narrow scope as to what they could seize, basically just a certain category of items plus anything "tainted" or illegal.

Just to elaborate, over here we don't one single federal agency like MI5 or the FBI, we have ASIO, who are domestic spooks basically, and don't carry firearms, and the AFP, who actually do the policing. And unlike in the US, a federal crime is no more serious than a state one, it simply means it breaks a federal law rather than a state one.

In the US, a federal crime isnt necessarily more serious than a state crime. Part of it depends on where/how the crime was committed, the type of crime is also important. true, but thats just a jurisdictional thing though...if the federal prosecution didnt supersede state, then you'd still get charged at the state level

Banks=Only federal because of FDIC
Mail= US Postal Inspection Service, Inspector General
Internet/Phone=FCC, FTC, FBI etc (depending on what you did)

Someone on the Shroomery was out in the woods with thier friends and got stopped by a ranger/cop. They were trespassing on federal land and he had a hit of LSD that the cop found. I think he had to go to federal court for it, but it was a long time ago when I read it.

that wouldnt surprise me, I (wrongly) got a parking ticket at a federal building and I had to pay it to the federal government. To dispute it, it would've meant going to federal court. It wasnt worth fighting (paying court fees, getting off work and driving 50 miles to the federal courthouse) so I just paid that shit
