when I have the car in neutral and I go to rev it...the sound isn't constant, it makes this sort of loud "whomwhomwhomwhom" noise...the fuck is this?

it's worse when I have the car in park, for some reason. when I'm driving, it doesn't do this though.

Heres the best way to test that thats what it is;

Find a good stretch of road and floor it from a full stop, the car should get near redline before it shifts from 1st to 2nd.

Is it affecting drivability at all? Could me ignition module, I'd have to hear it run but it just sounds like rev limiter to me.

yeah, that's about the RPM it starts stuttering at.

when I floor it on empty road I can get about 1000RPM under redline before 1st shifts to 2nd.

sooo that seems to be it then, I'm just glad that it isn't something that shouldn't be there
