Worst job in the world hands down.
The commentator is just talking like it's all good. Another day on the job. I was getting vertigo just watching that, Let alone me climbing the damn thing.

I feel like if i had a tether the whole way up i probably wouldn't freak out too bad, knowing if i slip that something's holding me. Climbing up to the top with nothing holding you in case you fall? Fuck that. I'm not even afraid of heights, but knowing my life is dependent on a tiny ass steel peg doesn't sound very fun. Those guys must have balls of fucking steel not to freak out during that. I bet they get paid a shit ton tho, that probly helps.

Don't worry, you get breaks every 20 feet where you can latch on and look around and try not to freak out.

These guys get paid pretty damn well. I've heard that these guys can pull down 6 figures during a busy year. A lot of them are electricians by trade, so they'd make like 40-50k just on the ground.
I dont see much point in wearing a parachute, if it was an uncontrolled fall, they'd probably get fucked up by the guy-wires or fall back into the tower. If you fall, you're dead...make your peace with God before you go to work I guess

What I don't get is why they don't have some sort of latch system. So your constantly on a guide rod, then your carabina flicks through multiple one way steel gates  . Seems kind of smart, considering any multitude of things and you die... Also second the basejumping idea.
