Free Unlimited Cell Phone?

What is a way that I can get free unlimited calls and texts? A girlfriend of mine used to have some kind of ap for her Ipod that let her, but idk if it was just a trial thing or not. Does anyone know what it is? It was a New Jersey area code. What about getting skype on some kind of smart phone (that is pretty much free).

The app you're talking about I remember people using, but I don't recall the name. Try looking for push-to-talk apps in itunes...

So you use Skype instead of minutes on your phone? Don't you have to pay to keep the phone active so it gets wifi or whatever? There is a prepaid android phone but unless you pay every month it gets cut off, and it seems like you couldn't use skype then.

EDIT: and are you talking about an ipod or a phone that you have?

I use an N9, which uses Meego as an operating system (similar to desktop linux). If you buy the phone outright you can just use WLAN... It doesn't matter if it has an active GSM/CDMA/whatever connection of you're only using wifi access points.

Americans can use something called Bobsled for Iphone (maybe android, dunno) Lets you call any american cellphone or home number for free.

I think I'm just gonna get my laptop fixed, use skype and a one way pager. Since all these things require an internet connection.
