i made $100 off of guitar hero aerosmith

ok, so gamestop is doing a promotion in which you can buy guitar hero aerosmith for $9.99 AND it comes with a free wired guitar.


so i bought it (ask the person behind the counter for a sealed copy), and then took it to walmart to return for store credit (no receipt)


i got $30.00 for the game, and $70.00 for the guitar.




oh yeah, this promotion is ONLY for XBOX 360

Maybe thats why they didn't accept mine? I tried what op said and I took my white xplorerer from GH2 and told them I want $70 for it but they told me to leave. They didn't act like it was the xplorer's fault though.

idk if they still do it but yes ive heard many times ( and my friend personally tested it) that walmart does not need a receipt to return items BUT they write down ur license number and you can only do it two times

My issue with returning things for profit is that it's very rare for a gaming store to be selling something cheaper than walmart. Maybe with a promotion, but definitely not for like $90 of profit. So I don't believe it.

no, because they have serial numbers and they'll be able to tell that they never had it in stock.

And yes, you can buy merchandise at one store and return it at another for store credit. But I doubt Gamestop had a 90% sale.

liar, i returned a game at walmart last week w.o receipt. 1st thing they do is scan it to make sure you go it from walmart. if not they tell you to GTFO. secondly you can only exchange it for the same game again, you can NOT get store credit. i bitched at them for 30 minutes cause i lost my receipt and the manager finally gave in and let me get a different game. but again, they knew it came from that walmart store.

Not sure if you;re just fucking around or what, but I will take this seriously. First off, if a game is opened, you can only exchange it for that game. Second there is no way to scan an item and tell which store it came from, unless the UPC is for a exclusive bundle. Other than that, ALL UPCs are universal.

You can return something without receipt at Wal-mart and exchange it for any item of equal or lesser value, or get store credit as long as the item is still sealed. That is their policy, if someone tells you otherwise they are just trying to fuck you. Trust me, I've done this about ten times at this point, it's pretty much how I always get games. I buy them for $10, then trade them for full price $60 games.

However, Wal-Mart does not charge $70 for the wired Xplorer which is the guitar you get with the Gamestop promotion. They do charge $30 for Guitar Hero Aerosmith, so I can buy that, but the only way the OP got $70 for the Xplorer is if someone fucked up badly and entered it as a different guitar because it usually sells for $20.

if for say, i had bough the game at target and tried to return it im sure i wouldnt have been able to

Nope, as I've said, I've done it about ten times at a few different Wal-Marts. Either yours was fucking with you, or it's a region by region thing, but at the Wal-Marts around here you can exchange for anything in the store of equal or lesser value. And if it's of lesser value, they even give you the difference.

No it doesn't, that is my exact point!
For example, Half Life 2 game of the Year Edition, has the UPC "014633098389". It is exactly the same on every HL2: GOTY. There is no serial number on the outside of the box that says which store it came from. Even if you break it down to the stores own code number for it, there is no way it can be tracked.
