Default when doing upright rows

bring the barbell only up to your lower chest/nipple area. any higher and you risk shoulder injury. i believe it's a good movement.

i say fuck upright rows altogether. not really necessary considering the many other/safer shoulder workouts

i stick to db shrugs for traps, and even bent over... reverse flys? w.e that is when you work your back in reverse fly motion. and my traps are pretty massive


upright rows have usually just bugged my shoulders a bit though so i stay away... i know too many people who destoyed their shoulders somehow lifting

I've had intermittent pain in my wrists for no apparent reason in the past year, and I noticed yesterday that when I was doing upright rows my wrist began to fucking kill. y u think this happen?

Use a wider grip... slightly wider than shoulder width. A narrow grip puts too much strain on the wrists and hits the arms more.

Because it's an unnatural movement that is damaging the tendons in your wrist.

Instead of upright rows try starting a routine of handstand pushups. Much better exercise for the deltoids and works your tendons equally with your muscles so you don't wind up straining and get nerve pain.
