I can't wear contacts because if something happens to my good eye because I dont have protection I might as well put on black glasses and learn to play piano.

Feels good. Especially after having them in for a few weeks at a time.

Am I the only one who does that? You guys ever had any trouble leaving them in for extended periods of time?

My vision gets real hazy in the mornings if I sleep with them in

The guys your asking arent old enough to have started showing the symptoms of the problems related to leaving them in.
When you sleep, during REM cycle, you are essentially letting your contact abrasively rape your retina (is that the right part? I don't know jack shit about eyes but I'm damn good with assumption, I'm on a hot streak)
This type of wearing and scratching won't immediately cause you "problems"
You will just slowly lose your vision until essentially your retina packs his shit up and retires down in Florida.

TLDR: I sleep with my contacts in, I'm not (any more) blind (than I am now)
and I haven't had a problem. I'm willing to bet when I lose my eyesight 10 years early I'll know it was my own dumbass fault.

I have lenses you leave in for up to 2 weeks and my optician said it was fine and not unsafe to keep them in for this long in one go since they're made of silicon or something. It was a local optician as well, not Specsavers or Vision Express or a chain so I assumed he'd know what he was talking about.

Maybe you should consider laser eye surgery. I'd do it if my prescription didn't keep changing every year. I know a few people that have had it and they said it was the best money they'd ever spent,

My parents offered to get my laser eye surgery once my prescription stops changing as well. Hopefully that's soon and I can go back to not being impaired.

It sucks ass, I ran out of contacts so now I can't lay down on my side while watching TV or my glasses will cut into my head, so uncomfortable.

Been wearing just contacts for years and years (not days or weeks at a time, I take them out at night) and they are now just starting to bother me. I get headaches, my eyeballs hurt etc. So now I gotta wear glasses like a big nerd again. My parents also said theyd pay for the eye surgery but I'm too much of a big pussy too get it.

When I was 2 I actually had surgery to correct cross-eye.
It's crazy thinking for a period of time my eye was out of it's socket.
They said I'd need another surgery by the time I hit my teens, never did, they didn't take into account the training I would give my eyes by use of computer and television. Strangely I have double vision and nearsightedness, but by looking at me my eyes are straight unless i'm very tired.
