The plan your life thread!
Basically I want to hear how everyone's planned their life right now, and hopefully it'll be something fun to look back on in 1/5/10 years, I know reading my old totse posts I found how much I changed to be astounding.
I'll kick it off. I'm living at home and saving up money now, then buying a place in 2 years. I'm getting a roommate to help pay the bills and cause awesome stories about drinking, drugs, and women. Date around till I'm 25, then start looking for a serious relationship, eventually getting married (yay tax benefits and prenups!) God knows what I'm doing for money once I graduate, but probably being awesome until someone promotes me to a CEO and I sink the company while making millions for myself. I'd eventually like to get a doctorate so I can put Dr. Rykoshet EVERYWHERE. Traveling is awesome and I've got big plans, but I need to set up a nice base of operations first. That and thinking this through and getting paid to travel is way better than touristing around.
Then it's pretty much coast by in life till I die. I'd like to be remembered, but short of coming up with a ridonkulous sonata or a hit single, I'll probably write a book(s) that might be published and read by two or three people. It'd give me great pride to do all this, but in reality it's just easier to have a nice house, a lovely woman, and lots and lots of sex.
Wow, can't believe how much it's based around me and not women. Maybe all you guys in a relationship will have different plans that depend entirely on the significant other, but for me, as much as I love women, and desperately need a good one to keep me in check, I think I take them too much for granted. We'll see, I'll probably change all these plans for "the one" or however many of them there will be.

Re: The plan your life thread!
sounds good. my current plan is either graduate high school in 3 years or drop out and get GED. then join the navy for 6 years at 17 and be a EOD technitian. after that join at 23 Aegis as a private security contractor. i'll do vip protection in iraq for a few years. by time i'm 30 or so i'll have 2-3 mil saved up. i'm thinking of living in australia. if so i'll join the australian military for a short time to gain citizenship.

Go to the JC, then try to transfer to either SF State or Berkeley. I'll figure out the rest when I get there. I hope it will involve much traveling, sex, and hallucinogens.

Your not going to Juvenile Hall for two years. If you were you'd already be there. Don't listen to their bullshit maximum sentence threats.

Re: The plan your life thread!
for me first and foremost is graduating from college this year (bachelor of nursing) then work for a couple months to save up some cash and move on out of home, whether it be into a share house or and apartment or something I don't know yet, but thats all in the details.
Once ive established my independence i'll pretty much just work for a while to save more money for when i take a holiday and travel to the US. I really want to do a road trip from one side of the US to the other, just because i think that would be a great way to see the country, and meet some interesting people along the way.
After ive done my US trip i'll head home and work some more, then hopefully get a working visa for the UK and head over there for a year or so. Once all that is done I'll head back home to the great land of Aus and continue working.
Of course along the way there will be dating, but i wont be actively trying to find 'the one'. I figure that one day the right person will show up someplace unnexpected. Then of course i'd like to do the whole, marriage and kids thing, i would love to have at least one baby by the time im 30.
after that who knows. thats really only the next 10 years of my life, so there's alot of years left. Thank god im graduating at 20.

No idea...and I wouldn't want one.
But in all reality, learning enough about the internet and computers so I can find your IP address to track you down and kill you is somewhere in there. I hate you so much, Rykoshet.
Mods, move this to SG or whatever it's called now, it has nothing to do with LLR.

Re: The plan your life thread!
Well after I get finish my 5 year plan I should end up with a bachelors degree in commerce, a college diploma in business administration and a year of related experience in the field. During this time I live on my own and living off government loans. (2% below prime and a free 3000 dollars a year you cant go wrong)
Afterwords or during these 5 years, I may take some time to actually see the western hemisphere and spend a year teaching English to shitty foreign kids. (which, in effect is pretty much getting paid to travel) I may do this is Europe or in Korea. (Most likely Korea, as I speak the language and I have never been to the country of my ethnicity).
Afterwards I will return to Canada, and find a job with my awesome credentials and work on my career at which point I will become all corporate and "sell out". Afterwords, I'll go back to university part time for something fucking awesome I always wanted to do (ethnobotany, exobiology, creative writing). Really I don't care what I do as long as 15-50 years from now theres a wikipedia article about me.
If all else fails I'll take advantage of my tri-citizenship and move to Argentina and join the Argentine army (I figure theres more room for advancement in the army of a country who has lost every major military conflict in recent history)
Hopefully during all this time I meet an awesome girl so we can be awesome together.

Re: The plan your life thread!
I'll hopefully graduate college next spring, and get a real job.
I'll keep my real job while saving up money and doing what I can to start my own business, which will hopefully be a carriage company. I'd like to do what within the next 5 years, even if it's just on a part-time basis.
Eventually, I'd like to run my business full-time. Once I get settled, buy a house, get married, etc..., I'd like to adopt a kid or 2. And lots of animals, of course.
Then I'll get old, die, and hopefully repeat.

Re: The plan your life thread!
If I get into pharmacy school this summer, things'll be sweet. I'll probably get my first major scientific article published before the end of this year, and start pharm school in Jan 2010. Then it'll be 4 years of school and paid co-op, during which time I may join the military ($10 - $50,000 in free tuition). After I graduate, I'll be on assignment in some military hospital at home or abroad (most likely up north) for 4 years. I may get my PharmD by distance ed while in the military. After that? No clue. I'll be 28, and probably an alcoholic.
I'd like to start my own business way up north in a smallish city surrounded by forest or work in a huge hospital in the city. Preferrably Toronto, Montreal, or Vancouver/Victoria.
I'll never have kids, and so few women are willing deal with a volatile manic depressant that I'll likely live alone and have more money than I can spend. So... Fast cars, booze, and drugs till I die!
Which will be when I'm 50. From a heart attack.
That's the plan.

Hmm lets see.
Become part of the system, get a crappy job and a wife who I don't love (She probably won't love me either), pollute the genepool with my children (Assuming I can still do this after smoking all the weed I have), relive the same horrible day over and over again with slight variation (Wake up, coffee, go to horrible job, come home and beat wife, get drunk, go to sleep, repeat)
THEN DIE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE

Re: The plan your life thread!
There's a lot of men who don't expect to be married or having kids.
I wonder if it'll change when we hit mid-20s. Everyone older than me says it will, but our social, economic, and political situation just seems like having a kid would be too much hassle compared to just being a fun uncle or something.
I guess when you're 50 you need something to pass the time.

Re: The plan your life thread!
I plan to learn how to garden when I'm somewhere around 50.
I used to have some serious business plans, but I've discarded most of them in favour of having more freedom. There's still one on the back burner, but it's dependent upon finding partners that share an interest in exercising some freedom, traveling, and making some money. It's quite the business model.
There are far too many options out there and I'm still not sure what road I'm heading down. I haven't done anything to narrow my options in a while.

Re: The plan your life thread!
Right now it's looking like I'll go and do my Bachelor of Arts, move in with my boyfriend the year after next, and eventually get a job as either a graphic designer or an animator for video games or movies. I don't know what happens after that; I haven't thought about it. Perhaps I'll move to a city and live in a cheap studio apartment and pay off my loans, maybe I'll be a complete failure. I don't want to plan that far ahead, really.
But absolutely none of that is certain. There's always a good chance that I'll drop out of University, or at the very least figure out half way through that I want to be doing something else, or that I'll up and run away to France or India or something like I've been planning for years, or that I'll like...end up married and pregnant. God I hate thinking about the future.

Go back to university (got an interview for a Masters degree in vehicle design at Coventry on Wednesday), do that for five years, get a job working in some kind of design company in the East Midlands. Get married to my girlfriend, have kids, move to Bournemouth, build hot-rods, customs and restore classic cars. Become a grumpy old man.

Re: The plan your life thread!
I usually don't plan more than 5 years but I'll give this a shot:
Graduate from college with a bachelors in History, a teaching certificate (high school level) and GIS certification. I'm also hoping to build my credentials with an SGA position but I'm really busy so I don't know if I can handle that. Either way I'll join a bunch of clubs and do as much as I can as an alternative. Of course an internship is in order as well....maybe overseas idk but I just need something to put on my resume besides "Had good grades".
After graduation I have two options. I can either take the exciting route and teach in a third World country in an organization like the Peace Corps or I could teach for a year in an inner city school as a way to relinquish my debt from student loans....problem is I'm like the whitest person you know so obviously I would be eaten alive by those inner city folk.
Anyway after working in something for a little bit I'll probably end up in Grad school and either go for my masters or Ph.D. Probably Ph.D seeing as how if I quit after the first two years I'll still have a masters. But it won't be in history but probably something in Political Science....maybe international relations, still not sure. Anyway after that it's working with the Government, either overseas or D.C or somewhere and the end result is to either have a behind the scenes position in politics or a direct position such as a Congressmen. Figured the chances are better being a congressman since there are about 350 something seats as opposed to 100 seats in the senate and well....1 seat as the president....plus I don't think I'm publicity material anyway so I'll be realistic with my goal and say that it will probably be a behind the scenes position if that. Who knows what the future entails.

The Flames haven't so much been partying as they've been binge drinking. It really hasn't helped their game. A friend of mine invited me out with a few of them the other night, but they were just on a mission to get fucked.

I think it's a hockey player thing. If the raptors are any indication, basketball players get fucked too (and I hear they smoke a lot of dope, omg black joke, but seriously, I think they do), but hockey and beer drinking go together hand in hand. That's why hockey fans are always shitfaced.
