Getting cat/kitten to stop sucking on shit

I was walking home rather intoxicated three or four months ago through some very heavy rain. As I am walking across the road on to my block I heara meow and look around to see if it was mine.

Couldn't see where it was coming from until I got to the other side of the road and looked down in to the storm drain to see a little kitten sitting in some very fast rising water. With a metal grate above it, it was certain death.

I attempted to lift the steel off but it was much too heavy. Quickly ran home and got my brother to come and help me lift it. I took it home and have been looking after her since, she is called "sdrain".

Well after I gave her a bath I found out she wouldn't eat solids so fed her condensed milk by dipping the tip of my finger in it and getting her to suck it off.

She is now a number of months olders and she has been able to eat real food for a long time now. But she keeps waking me up sucking on my fingers and when I throw her off she will start on my blanket or go out to the coutch et cetera. Just sucks on anything for no apparent reason aside from looking like she is trying to suck milk out.

How do I get her to stop and why is she doing it?

they have "bitter apple" spray for dogs who chew on couches and stuff. You could spray that on the blankets and furniture she normally sucks on. I hear that it doesn't smell. It would give her the cue that sucking is bad, and you could turn her to solid food to get the bad taste out of her mouth. It's like $5 at Walmart. They say it's even safe to spray on dogs to stop them from chewing their fur off, so you may be able to spray it on your fingers.

I too found my cat as a stray.. was only a kitten but obviously hadn't been fed in like a week or two as it was all skin and bones and fleas n shiz.. i took it home and started looking after it.. cats are cool animals.

I had the same problem, It just means the cat is happy.
Just put the cat outside for a moment, or in another room every time it does that.
After a wile it schould learn that it isnt ok.

Try the spray thing but all cat's tongues have a natural antiseptic in them so she might be doing you a favor.

a cat sucking on your fingers while you are trying to type or do anything else? Not really anything but anoying.

A cool thing she does though which I have never seen anyone get there cat to do is learn commands that dogs normaly would. As of right now she will come and roll over when I say. Working on sit.

It'll grow out of it, hopefully. I had one kitten that did that for a few months. But I also have a full grown cat that's 10 years old and still does that. Just move her away from whatever she's suckling on.
