Creating a new Identity

Okay, so for all you people trying to get a fake ID, listen up. Why get a fake ID when you can get a real one. Documents required to get a driver's license are much easier to acquire than an actual fake, and it's real. This is fact. However, they are still not easy to acquire.

Most commonly required documents for driver's license:

Birth Certificate - Easiest to fake really.
Social Security # - The only one I am unsure of. That's why I'm posting actually, I am curious if it is possible to use another's SSN, or obtain a fake one.
Proof of Residence - Possibly the easiest. If you don't have an actual residence, then you can often pay off an organization or apartment owner and have them write a letter for the DMV stating that you reside there.

Now I know there ARE ways to do this. But I am stuck with the SSN piece. I mean, why get a fake ID that can often times be recognized by cops, and cost you $1000-6000 when you can get a REAL one registered with the DMV. So please, no trolling or any bullshit. Contribute to the thread, or get the fuck out.

I guess it's the point of going into the dmv and risking getting caught. But you can also just pay off someone at the dmv and get a nice real fake one, but thats cost good coin.

I've often wondered about the social security part as well. It is risky going to the DMV trying to do this though, risking being arrested on the spot. Also, its nearly impossible to pay off someone at the DMV, as the forms are passed through many people, and the person behind the counter doesnt just get to input any inforamtion they want, and its taken very seriously. I know this from having a friend who worked in the DMV and considering a similar plan to yours but realizing it is impossible in 2012.

There are a lot of cameras at the DMV near me. Seems like a high risk/low reward job.

Making high quality fakes would be a better option IMO.

SSN's are not easy to aquire by any means. And it'd be very easy to get busted right at the dmv.

I found a SSN generator online that provides valid SSN's. Dunno if this would do the trick.

Actually up here it is not that hard to payoff a dmv.

Interesting thread, hope more people have stuff to offer.

People have mentioned DMVs now have linked their databases to different states to detect duplicates by comparing faces in pictures. However its unclear how effective that is because Ive personally heard stories of people with more than 1 license. Facial features can be altered too.

Havent seen much around here as far as assuming identities except we had a thread on doing it with homeless people, which can work. Information such as SSN and DOB are easily enough obtainable, but a license is needed to do lots of things.

Something Im wondering is what are some other types of full info that are best used for this sort of thing? Ok so we know homeless people can work. What about retarded and blind people? I would think that many of them do not have licenses. You could gather the needed documents and then build credit in their name. Americans who moved out of the country are another good bunch I think. Dead people dont work since 99.9% are reported to the social security administration rendering their info near useless. A good question is, how does someone go about getting infos on the first 3 groups, thats the tricky part! Once you have it though you can apply your new facial features and continue with little chance of discovery.

A matching name needs to go with the SSN, birthdate as well.

They have ID cards and there should be some special marking of the disability they have on the ID. I would assume the DMV keeps this info on file.

If someone obtains thier PI, they can take out bank accounts.

Was thinking more the ones that cant take care of theselves. I have a friend who has a retarded uncle who is severe and he is locked away all day. Blind are less likely but still I dont know if all would have ID.

I bet someone could go up to a blind person in a bar and ask "Sir, can I see your ID?", and then hand them back a gift card or something. Messed up though...
