found some pics and a vid of this lil guy

video (ignore my skeleton hand, it was obviously a dry day  )
baby hare I came across a few weeks ago, hours old by my estimate. I assumed he'd been picked up by something, he was lying on the foam-rubber gravel floor of a children's playground (next to an orchard where there are a LOT of hares), totally visable, cold and limp but pathetically flopping from side to side grazing his face against the floor  I took him home to give him water and warm him up a little, and then to the local vets. one of the receptionists there volunteered to take care of him. I'd have offered myself but I didn't have the space or the time required.
we named him Jake. he was sleeping in the video I recorded and when he moved his legs I felt tiny little claws tickling my hand  one of the most adorable things I have ever witnessed.

I sent a picture to my friend who showed her kid sister, she asked if it was a baby hippo hahaha  I was like "in my hand?? bitch u crazy"

have indeed, I believe I sent it from FF&GL to Outdoor Living in the first place. I have no interest in hunting, however, unless I'm presented with an end-of-world scenario.
I'm glad I rescued him too, the thing that makes me squirm is that I nearly accidentally stepped on him before I registered exactly what was it was that was on the ground - I thought he was a leaf or a really big slug as my brain was deciding that it was definitely some kind of living thing I suddenly realised it was a hare and not a mutant slug

I could probably catch all the food I need for the spiders and snakes, but I wouldn't have any clue as to how many toxic substances the wild caught food would contain, which is why I feed 'em only animals bred for that specific purpose.
