Lo-Jack or not?

Long story short, laptop I have become in possesion of is a brand new gateway from a school a few towns away. Novell client would let me in if I hit enter without typing in password.
However since I did not want to connect to the internet,
I sent it to a friend to wipe it.
I got it back, and it wont turn on at all.
Powerlight is flashing blue as it is supposed to when having a full charge but still will not turn on, even if plugged in.
Any help?

Are you sure your friend didn't damage it?

Can it turn on at all?

Can it boot from a CD?

Try removing the battery and putting it back in. You could reset the BIOS.

Does nothing appear on the screen at all?

When you mash several keys at a time, does the system beep?

Try booting from USB/LiveCD, if windows if fucked then you'll either want to boot from a fresh install disk, or use something like Hirens Boot CD to fix it.
