Does this free trial expiry hack really work?

ANyone tried this yet. Would it or does it work? Seems really simple.

Well, normally it wont work on Software's which use Internet, but i haven't tested it yet and i have some doubts about it.

That works on some really old software, but most recent software will detect the change in date and adjust the timeout accordingly -- or immediately time out when they detect that the time until expiration is longer than the trial period.

In short, it used to work, and may still work on some programs. I wouldn't count on it though -- try it in a virtual machine first.
