Tongue Piercing
I been thinking about gettin something in my tongue, but I know nothing about it. Is it just the stud, or are there other options for tongue accessorization? What can I expect in a few years if I get this done? Will my tongue fall off? Will people call me a fag? Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Tongue Piercing
Is this a serious quesion? Working on the assumption that yes, it is, then there's a couple of options.
You can have the basic bar in the middle. Or there are two other places for another bar, a little further back and to either side. If you don't want it going through your tongue, you can get the flap of skin that connects your tongue to the bottom of your mouth pierced. I happen to kinda like that one, though I don't think I'd get it for myself. That's usually done with a sleeper-type ring.
If you want the usual bar, you can of course accessorise the ball on it however you like, even flat disks and things. However be careful with the jewellery you choose cos it can cut into the roof of your mouth.
In a few years? There'll probably be a little migration but other than that, as long as you take care of it to begin with, you can expect it to look exactly as it does when you get it done.
Your tongue won't fall off. It will swell and if you don't take care of it, it may get infected. However tongues are less likely to get infected than most other areas due to the increased blood flow.
People may call you a fag.

Re: Tongue Piercing
Well, some might call you a "fag"... but most girls think it's cute (except really preppy ones), and guys aknowledge that it's good for plenty of reasons... so I'd do it if you really want it. Get "H2Ocean" alcohol free rinse for, well, like after every meal. If your tongue starts turning white, it's getting infected. be careful with that... it's muscle, and infection there can easily spread to the rest of your body. Best is to just start over at a later date if it persists:/ Also, though, don't over clean or play with it at first.
Otherwise the stuff you asked is pretty easy to figure out

Re: Tongue Piercing
I heard the hole grows with time. Is this true? Someone told me they knew someone who could poke their pinky finger through the hole.

Re: Tongue Piercing
Gross!
No, untrue. I've had mine a year and haven't had any changes.
If they could poke their finger through it, they probably did it to themselves as a more extreme body mod. Or possibly it was a freakish infection. More likely the former.

Re: Tongue Piercing
If you are considering getting the tongue piercing I would recommend that you eat a fair bit beforehand and also pre-organize some straw fed meals and protein shakes. Do you have a fairly long tongue or is it short. I've heard that a shorter tongue heals faster and swells less than longer tongues.
*Pro tip - I found that with the metallic ball that came with the piercing I couldn't help myself from playing with it. Imo, you are better off getting an acrylic ball.
Do you mind if your parents or relations see it?

This might be a bit of a bitch. I wanted something small and subtle anyway, I don't want some big piece of metal in my mouth, I was thinking a flat cap or something.

Re: Tongue Piercing
Not necessarily. I had mone for nearly three weeks, my friend hid her's for over a year. As long as you keep talking from the time you get it done (this is so your mouth adapts and you don't end up with a permanant change in the way you speak) it won't even be noticable.

Re: Tongue Piercing
Tongue piercings are relatively simple and easy to care for. As long as you don't do anything stupid, it won't stretch or migrate MUCH. I've had mine for almost four years and it's still exactly as it was the day I got it.
There will be swelling, take Ibuprofen (not Tylenol or Aspirin) as it's an anti-inflammatory as well as a painkiller. H2Ocean is good, but tastes vile, my piercer recommended an alcohol-free mouthwash, but do as your piercing artist recommends, not what your friends tell you.
As far as hiding it, there are clear plastic 'retainers' available. I put one in for job interviews, and unless you stick out your tongue or they're really looking for it, no one will see a thing.
I personally hate tongue rings on men, and I WOULD call you a fag, but so what? It's your body, do what you want with it.
