Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
I'm 40.
Successful? Guess that depends on your measure of what success is. I was in management at a very young age, earned more money than is healthy for a 20 year old alcoholic and took the kind of decisions with other people's lives that would make your head spin. Then I walked away. Now I spend my time caring for my insane wife and writing stuff that sometimes even gets printed.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
21 years old - highschool drop out.
$31.70 p/h working with glass, shipping containers and cranes.
Work a 2nd job making $200-$500 per week.
Studying Freelance Journalism now and will do Private Investigation very soon.
Own my own charity that I will then use to demonstrate my leadership and entrepreneurial skills to gain investors for a business in a few years.
Going on a 3 year, round the world trip (of which 2 years will be spent in the FFL) in 2 1/2 months that will fuel many articles for my journalism career.
Currently have a nice amount of cash saved up.
I think considering 1 1/2 years ago I was diagnosed with bipolar, jobless, carless/licenseless, girlfriendless, and a plethora of other shit (including an amphetamine problem and a HUGE xanax and valium addiction), I'm doing alright. Even though I do dable in heroin weekly.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
I'm Twenty-fourish I believe, with a bunch of college credits towards an art/design degree. I stopped going to school when my wife graduated because my full scholarship was up and I see the degree as pretty worthless. I think it may be that I only need as little as one credit hour to graduate though, so I may talk to some people and get an online course set up to take care of that in a semester or two just for shits and/or giggles. I currently do computer work for a school district, I made about 24k last year, because I didn't start until well into the school year, and this upcoming year I will make something like 30k-32k. Nothing too fancy, but with only my and my wife's student loans to pay each month, and not much else it's been pretty nice (I've just been paying for hers while she's hurried through getting a masters degree over the course of a year. She graduated 3 days ago and already has a teaching job lined up that she'll start at in a couple of months.).
We probably still live below the poverty line actually, but we don't have or want expensive lifestyles, so we have more money than we need. My car's transmission just died on me, but I'm about to just buy another car with cash I have on hand... And that's with me only working until about 3-4 in the afternoon, in a great job where I have no boss looking over my shoulder, and in about a week I'll be switching to having 3 day weekends for the duration of the summer... Not to mention the cross-country road trip we'll be taking in about a month to go visit some friends in the Utah desert. With a 4 day workweek, vacation days stretch out pretty nicely (10 days free for every 4 vacation days taken)... poverty is a blast.
When the wife begins working in another 2 months or so, we'll begin seriously focusing on paying off our student loans as fast as possible to get out from under that... then switching the focus to buying a nice piece of property on which to live... Or the other way around if we find a particularly nice bit of property with an artificially low price... but we're not in too much of a hurry to start buying land since we're not particularly attached to any part of the country.
Lifethings are going along smoothly so far.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
I'm 18 years old. Currently, I'm a full time student. I'll be finished with my second semester at university when this week is through. I'm taking two courses over the summer and when that is said and done I will have 38 credits completed.
I have changed my major from a B.S. in biological sciences to a B.S. in chemical engineering. I should be making roughly $60k/year once I find employment after the completion of my undergraduate degree. Once I pursue a graduate degree in some sort of nanotechnology or chemical engineering related field I should be making quite a bit more. However, I am going into it for the passion I find in doing it, not for the money - it's a nice bonus, however.
As it stands, I have yet to find part-time employment for the summer, but I should find something soon, hopefully.I am not monetarily successful at this point in time, but I have no expenses to pay and will be making good money soon enough.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
22 years old, have a steady job doing maintenance at a meat plant ($15/hr). Got a house, a car, and a truck. I'm currently working on a solo album. I have a 401k plan, an ok health insurance.
I think I'm successful, given that most people my age around here still live with their parents and possibly jobless.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
Define success?
Anyways...I'm 18, about 12 hours of college credit through dual enrollment...going to be studying electrical engineering. I have about $5000 total, a lot in various investments...a pretty decent car, some decent job experience. Most of my income is through one-time jobs or random things...and more questionable sources from time to time. I might get a job this spring...but meh. It depends how I feel. My cash flow is alright for now.
But most importantly, I have a guitar, I play chess from time to time, I am learning Spanish and French, I travel spontaneously, I like to cook fancy meals for pretty girls, and I enjoy striking up conversation with strangers and making friends. As far as I'm concerned, that makes me successful.

In financial accounting, assets are economic resources. Anything tangible or intangible that is capable of being owned or controlled to produce value and that is held to have positive economic value is considered an asset. Simply stated, assets represent ownership of value that can be converted into cash (although cash itself is also considered an asset).[1]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset
kinda the definition of an asset, actually.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
21 years old & I have been successful thus far in life. [/BRAG]
I scored 'retard' on my first standardized test, now I will certainly graduate from liberal art university this May with honors. College was easier than high school for me, by a long shot.
I am a leader, but not a very original thinker. I have lots of friends and get laid often enough.
I like powerlifting and wilderness backpacking, but I suck at sports.
So, other than sports, I've dominated life thus far, but I come from a white upper/middle class family. My parents were the first in their families to go college and have gone on to get more degrees than any of their siblings. So as they say, 'the apple doesnt fall far from the tree' -- my point being, education and socio-economic status should be mentioned in this thread.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
I'm 19, full time student (freshmen) at a very nice private university although my grades were shit last semester. I've got about a third of the credits I need to graduate from going to community college instead of my senior year in HS, I plan on going abroad or something rather than graduating early though.
I've got a min. wage job making food at a restaurant on the busiest street for college kids so it's pretty fun and my coworkers are chill.
I've got about $200 currently from working a month, but I owe various people a total of $2000 which I'm already working on paying off.
All in all I guess I'm doing decently, my biggest problems are my debts and a bit of a drug problem I suppose but I'm working on that. No drugs in specific, just a problem with whatever I can get my hands on.
Edit: Oh yeah, if/when I graduate, I'll have no debts from school thank god.

20. Currently studying at university.
Probably end up working in the civil service, or for the Labour Party. Won't earn loads, nowhere near as much as my father (who I'm quite a bit smarter than); but enough for a decent suburban lifestyle for me, the wife, and 3 kids.

Re: How old are you and how successful are you?
I'm 19, started going to college but didn't go to class and lost financial aid, I. Supposed to be going back on the tenth but idk. I have some good connects though and am making more money running import/export for a chemical supply company than both of my parents combined. And I work a total of maybe 2 hrs a week, the rest of the time I'm at shows, trippin balls, or smoking weed. I'm loving life
