Joining the army on felony probation...
Can the afformentioned act be done? And how much do you get paid per month, if sent into combat? And can you ask to be sent into the most combat?

Re: Joining the army on felony probation...
Lol.
I don't think so. You would have to wait until you are at least off probation.
E-1's get paid like, 1300 dollars a month BEFORE taxes.
You won't have to worry about not getting sent into combat. I am pretty sure all you would qualify for is either 13B (field artillery) or 11B (infantry). Mabye 88M (truck driver).

Don't even bother. No branch is doing moral waivers. Fuck, I can't get in because I have a GED with honors and a pretrial diversion for marijuana possession. Passed my physical and got a 93 on the ASVAB and I was rejected for having a GED. No way in hell they'll take you right now. I mean they're turning people away because they need medical waivers.

Think is cause a lotta people are scrounging for jobs these days. I only had a GED back then too & had to get a waiver cause I was 17 when I signed up. That was a while ago though. It way easier to get in cause the recruiters were having a hard time making quota.
But even then, the Navy pretty much told me to piss off. Went army instead, 12B... good times.

Yeah, I wish I was smart enough to get my act together at that age. I'm not even remotely similar to the person I once was. I can get into the Marines if I get 15 college credits, so I have to pay off my my school debt before I can start school again.

So, going to school, becoming an officer, and earning $25+ K a year is much more worth it.
If you really want a career, become a military doctor in the U.S. military.
You can make about $75K and can't be sued for malpractice at all.
You can keep all of your money, too.
You can literally walk out a millionaire if you want to.

Yeah, that's good and all but there is an even better way. If you join the National Guard, they'll pay for all your school up to a bachelor's degree and you're enlisted. Serve your 6 years and go to school, then head to your local army recruiter.

Re: Joining the army on felony probation...
When I was like 17 this marine recruiter was trying to recruit me hard. I basically just messed with him a bunch and had lols at his expense.
Fuck I wish I had just joined up. The only way I'll ever get another shot at getting into the armed forces is if world war 3 happens.

You can’t join on probation- no exceptions! I just went through that. Certain charges will automatically disqualify you as well, for instance distribution of a class X substance. The more charges you have, the less job choices will be offered to you because of your security clearance. Once you are in, you are in and no one will know, and your going to be paid the same as everyone else. Look up “military pay chart” for ranks E-1 through E-7 to see how much you will be paid. No matter what your going to see combat, btw start looking on a map for places named Iran, and Syria. I hope you like the desert. No matter what your job is you are a SOILDER first and when you get deployed that’s what you have been trained to do.
Good luck asking to be a neurosurgeon, I couldn’t even get Paralegal. The allowances also have to do with where you are stationed so someone in the NE would get a higher allowance than someone down south. So that 100k is just a bench mark. Plus with the pay allowances you’re paying for room and board, and food at that point which are going to be big expenses.

How long have you been in for? Oh...That's right, your not.
Not EVERYONE "see's combat." Trust me on this. Thier FOB might get mortared, but there are alot of soldiers who never go outside the wire. 11B/C, 13B/D/F, 19D, 19K, any SF MOS? Yeah, you will most likely see combat. Everything else there is a slim chance.
Last I checked they aren't sending Human Rescource specialists and cooks on combat patrols.

Being deployed to iraq/afghanistan = being on some huge base surrounded by barbed wire and armed sentries for most people in the military.
Now if we went to war with the Russians then there could be some serious carnage.

it still counts as combat. you still get combat pay, and you could still get killed. a couple years ago a mess hall was suicide bombed in iraq.

Re: Joining the army on felony probation...
You apparently know little about the military and the pogue vs grunt debates.
Outside of the wire, loaded gun, people who want to kill you looking at you and trying to= combat.
Otherwise it is just being deployed to a hostile area.

Fair enough. Not trying to pick a fight or seem like a know it all. I just assumed that since mostly likely all of us would get deployed at one point or another, and that our job regardless of our MOS is solider first that there was a good chance at some point weather it was for a minute, hour, day, or entire stay you would be engaged or engage an enemy. I will concur that you obviously know more than I do and you raised a valid point about never going beyond “the wire”. Is it safe to assume that you should at least expect it? No disrespect to you, I am more than willing to earn saying, yeah FU I have been in, I am a US Solider. Here I come Oct ship date!

You say you could still get killed? Well, you could still get killed driving to work.
Combat means actively engaging the enemy. Them shooting at you, and you shooting back. Nothing more, nothing less.
