Cool Modem from 1964, Welcome to the Internet.

This is so bad ass in a geeky kind way.

I wonder if that's how the first "Totseans" used to connect to NirvanaNET, well not with modems that old, but if through text-only browsers or something.

Heh.

Wow, so you don't know what a BBS was.

BTW: Old and reposted, and yes this his how people connected to th internet upto the mid 80's in a way, albeit newer modems. Then came ISA, and PCI formats which made dialup plugin right to a computar.

That was cool! I've only ever known digital modems, didn't know that you had to put the receiver onto a old modem!

So you never watched War Games? Matthew Broderick's character had to do that very thing, in order connect to other computers.

Gawd, could you imagine using those acoustic couplers on the road instead of the awesomeness of free wifi everywhere(not really free..but yeah). Lol, you would've been paying per minute on the pay phone, while checking your email and looking at ascii pr0n.
