Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
Splinter Cell sucks. That's what all the people who suck at MGS play.

You're comparing two different genres.
Splinter Cell is stealth action.
Metal Gear Solid is a slightly interactive movie.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
I like how this time, the story is a lot more personal. Sam isnt just some dude doing odd jobs for the government anymore, so its nice to see Sam with a vendetta to fulfill. Im annoyed at how they killed off a lot of the characters from the previous games though.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
They seemed to have fixed every problem I had with the other Splinter Cell games. Sam Fisher is no longer being stealthy to not be seen, but instead being stealthy to violently murder people.
Looks great

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
Considering Splinter Cell is a harder game I don't really see how that makes any kind of sense.
I guess "sucking at MGS" must mean not being able to stomach the godawful story they force down your throat every 5 minutes.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
although theyre both stealthy, but they both have a different feel to it. Metal gear solid is more strategic and requires careful planning, while SC tends to lean towards manipulating enemies. its hard to explain. ive played most of the games on both series and i like them both. They stories of both are pretty different though.

Looks cool, I like how you can line up a couple of initial shots when looking under the door. Why the comparisons with MGS? They are both great.

Splinter Cell is not a harder game. Also, Tom Clancy is the worst writer EVER.

I wouldn't say it's a lot harder, but it definitely requires more finesse in regards to the stealth elements. It certainly doesn't make any sense to say something stupid like "SC is for people who suck at MGS", but you were just being your lovable trollish self right?

Good thing he doesn't have anything to do with the writing in the games then, huh? I believe Ubisoft actually just bought the rights to his name to slap on whatever military game they see fit.
Still though, the SC games have never had great stories, but at least they weren't childish, slapsticky bullshit that you were forced to watch at every juncture.

I do not usually like these games a ton, but this looks amazing.
...I'm still not going to buy an Xbox360 or PS3.
Edit: Oh shit, they're making a PC version. I'm sold.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
I was never a huge fan of SC, but this actually really got my attention. I'm super excited about the MGS, finally on 360 This new SC looks more brutal though, Sam is quicker, and making it more personal was a smart move. I'm actually really excited to play it, i like the new features a lot too. The last position or whatever makes it more interesting to flank out some enemies and really mess them up, and is kind of logical. I'm really excited for both

No Sam's daughter gets killed by a 'drunk driver', apparently now he realizes it was some kind of plot, looks like he goes in by himself to figure it out. It does look somewhat similar to parts of Taken though.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
I like what I see. It's more fast-paced than the original formula, and seems to utilise several new gameplay mechanics, which you can seamlessly switch between. I also like how interactive it is - smashing a guys face into a wall should be a requite of gritty stealth games.
Let's hope it comes through.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
I'm not sure what to say about this game. I absolutely LOVE Splinter Cell, but I wasn't sure what I was watching at E3. I remember Splinter Cell being you creeping around in the dark with a bunch of gadgets, throwing bottles to get people over to you and hiding bodies. On this one,I just saw Sam Fisher running around shooting everyone making as much noise as possible and leaving dead people everywhere behind him. It reminds me of like Hitman the game compared to Hitman the movie. At the end of the trailer it looked like a shooter instead of a stealth game.
I hope it doesn't turn out to be some kind of 3rd person shooter/action game and stays a stealth cover game.

They are? From what I've heard it sounds like x360 only. I saw their E3 demo, one of the guys said "releasing on hexbox 360 exclusively" and i was saddened
Conviction looks ok, I was hoping for more of a continuation of the Chaos Theory or Pandora Tomorrow type story lines. Now he's just getting revenge for the death of his daughter, which i think was a stupid drama plot thing to begin with. If it makes it to PC I'll play it just to hear Michael Ironside as Fisher, even for no other reason than that. Hopefully they make a decent game out of it, but from what I've seen I dont know if i will like the direction they took the franchise. That one SC level where you had to sneak into the CIA headquarters was one of my favorites, along with the bank robbery mission too.

Game looks fun. The only thing that annoys me is Sam Fishers voice, sounds likes its trying to hard to sound badass.

Re: Splinter Cell Conviction wins
The last Splinter Cell kind of sucked, but this looks so much better.
I will definitely buy this.
It is 360 CONSOLE exclusive. The way I see it as, if it comes out on one console (between the 360,wii and PS3) and none of the other 2 console get it, then it is exclusive.
