any Spenser fans out there?
The fictional PI created by Robert Parker, that is, not the English poet.
His books are totally addictive--whenever a new one comes out, I'll check it out from the library and usually finish it the same day.
Parker has been writing Spenser novels since the mid-70's and Spenser was in his 40s then, so in real life he would be rather old and feeble--he is now (in the books) somewhere in his fifties, and still tough.

Spenser is great. I read a little Robert Parker every now and then. But whenever I'm reading Robert Parker, it's always Spenser.
