Backlit keyboard working/not working,

Okay so I have a dell studio 1535 , and I have a problem.
I had my keyboard changed a couple of weeks back (squeaky spacebar drove me nuts) , and yesterday night my backlit keyboard just stopped glowing.

I checked my shortcut key (fn + right arrow) again and again and the icon on the screen that it's acknowledged it - but the keyboard lights did not glow.

Now it glows intermittently - some random times , just for a while and goes back again , all on it's own.

I checked for the functionality of my keyboard keys , all work.Updated my BIOS , nothing happened.

Sounds like there's a bad connection between the keyboard and logic board. They're connected by a thin ribbon cable and if it's not seated correctly, it makes an intermittent connection.

You need to unclip the hinge panel, undo the 3 keyboard screws and lift it up to reseat the connector. Don't do this if it's under warranty though as you'll probably void it - send it back.
