It was good and some parts were hilarious, but overall felt a little disappointed that they gave away the best parts (most) in the ads

I think Borat was better, still a great watch though, better than most of the other shit.

The Ali G Show used to be one of my favorites when I was younger. I remember we had HBO and there was all sorts of awesome shit for a 13 year old to watch. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing it. I liked Borat, even though I was skeptical with all the hype. I expect Bruno to be about the same. Not better or worse. Just the same sort of thing with Bruno instead of Borat. Ali G was my favorite persona of his, but they already made an Ali G movie. Didn't really count though due to the fact that it was low budget and God awful.

Everyone probably agrees that hearing people imitate Borat got fucking old, and I guess only time will tell if the same thing will happen with Bruno. I have a feeling it won't.

Either way I'm going to watch it... probably via torrent though.

Actually IMHO one of the best bits of Borat was on the DVD extras where he walks down the cheese aisle at the supermarket.

TBF the best bit was in an advert before hand, Ricky gervais pointing down to his left, our right and talks about the fat people munching food, 4 fat girls had just sat down a bit in front of us and too the right, he was tapping one of them on the head.

That will probably only make sense if you've seen the advert :/

Bruno was a good movie though some parts (Where he is talking to the guy while getting his ass bleeched) look really staged. Though some parts like the arena thing at the end don't look staged at all and are fucking funny. So as the Osama comment. Still prefer Borat though

Borat was certainly better, but Bruno is still pretty damn funny.

I think that this is largely due to the fact that Borat is (seemingly) an innocent; all of the humour is derived from either his misconceptions of American culture, or the botched attempts he makes at 'being American'.
In Bruno, on the other hand, most of the humour comes from graphic gay sex jokes that are gratuitous in their delivery - when that giant cock fills the screen everyone laughs out of sheer embarrassment. Sure, Bruno does borrow from Borat's successes, but you're always left thinking that Bruno is toying with his victims; whereas Borat just doesn't get it, much like the way in which Borat's victims don't get him.

Both films are very funny, but Borat is cleverer.

I thought it was okay. It started off quite interesting with the velcro suit bit and other candid parts but quickly felt like Borat 2:The Gay Years as the plot crudely forced the different scenarios together to complete the underlying attempt at story.
The child model parents, the talk show section and the redneck trolling are great highlights though.

I just saw this tonight (there was just me and my best friend, and 3 gay male couples), and I can safely say there weren't any real laugh out loud scenes, but the scene with the helicopter spinning penis, the girl who kept whipping him, and the long awkward silence when Bruno says something about the stars reminding him of all the hot guys....

Just saw it yesterday or so with my girlfriend. It was definitely funny although the scenes were fucking ugly. I just hate to see other men's penises, but hey, whatever floats ones boat.

It did an overall good job of making fun of hollywood, rednecks and lots of other stuff.
