Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
What type of car, is best for flooring it to 40 in a store parking lot, then burning rubber, doing doughnuts, and hitting corners at 30, without any real dammage to the wheel alignments, or axles? I really, really want to do this. If I am successfull in aquiring large sums of money.

I really am asking a serious question. I am thinking either BMW, Toyota, or Mustang. The car can not be over $36,800.

30 mph? Are you fucking crazy? No car corners at 30 mph without at least snapping a sway bar!

Re: Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
As far as a new car, probably a Crown Vic. Body on frame, RWD, built to take more abuse than anything else on the road.
If you just want to trash a car though, I suggest a Honda. Because I dislike them.

You have unrealistic goals. It sounds like you want to pull a bunch of ricer moves in a parking lot. Sounds like you're some 16 year old who wants to be cool like in Fast and the Furious.
A Mustang can't handle for shit. I love them, but they really suck at handling.
If you want a good handling car, go AWD, and if you want it to take abuse, go Subaru, in your case, a WRX is probably your best bet, but you probably can't even drive a manual transmission.
But don't do this, it is really stupid and you're going to hurt yourself or other people driving like this.

New car does not equal air-cooled bug.
Outlast in what regard?
Regardless, they don't have the power to even do a donut or reach 40mph in a parking lot, so they don't qualify anyway.

Re: Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
A stupid question but, DON'T get an AWD for this stuff. Being a fool and obviously inexperienced, you will waste the tranny. Just get a small japanese beater if you want to thrash around. Actually, the crown vic suggestion is an OK one. Make sure you flip into a ditch and die though before you hurt anyone else on the road.

Get something with RWD, an open differential, enough power to chirp the wheels on asphalt, and go find some tight twisty dirt roads. Cheapest satisfaction you will ever have.

Re: Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
Hitting corners at 30? Christ, you've got aspirations! Try, er, any car built after say, 1950.
Problem is all the RWD japanese stuff (in this country at least) has been snapped up by driftorz (wannabe driftorz, I mean). That leaves you with old Germans which are more expensive to run, or old American cars which (to make a generalisation) all handle like absolute shit and probably can't take corners at 30.
You could dare to be different and buy an old British sports car. MG Midget, MGB, Triumph GT6 or something - all pretty cheap to buy and run, all very light so they wheelspin easily, and all handle very well. You wouldn't want to use one as an everyday car though.
But to be honest, posting this is a complete waste of time, because you're not going to buy any of those cars and you're not going to do that ricer bollocks anyway. What you're probably going to do is buy an old Honda Civic (which is a good practical car) and possibly ruin it with 'rims' and an oversized exhaust pipe.

Re: Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
I beat the shit out of my 1995 FWD Olds Cutlas cierra sl, I don't know why but I think someone played with the gearing because this grandma car has some balls. I live in the woods and there isn't speed limits or cops. (for the most part.) Ive gone toe to toe with 4WD suvs on pavement and dirt and won in both instances. I am really thinking about putting money into it now that they dont make them anymore.
One time I crashed into a 2007 jeep wrangler Switching lanes and tried to wipe it off onto parked cars. Smashed the shit out of his fender and door. He was hammered and let me go without insurance. Then a witness asked me if I knew where to get weed. the only damage was a dent on my right fender and i had to trim my wheel well because it was rubbing on my rubber.
I don't suggest front wheel drive unless you like doing driving tricks in reverse.

Re: Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
How have all the cars been cheap RWD imports been snapped up in your country?
Don't get a 4WD car because it's never a good idea to just romp on one, because it'll probably blow up. A well built 4WD car is another story, but that's also not what you want if you're just out to learn to drive a car well.
A FWD car like a civic or something (civ-bang...) is nice if you've got a city where you can't really get the car to stretch it's legs.
If you want cheap power though, just get a tuned RWD car. Almost noone makes money on a tuned car, and people pour that shit into them. A decently built 240sx, MR2, eagle talon, 300zx, celica or a 3000gt will usually have a boatload of suspension work, a built turbo engine, and a whole load of engine management. They're pricey, but not even close to a new cheap ass pontiac sunfire or other crap-mobile. For about $7000-8000, you'd get around 200-300rwhp on a car that's light as fuck and probably sprung on coilovers.
Note: yes, I know that a talon is either FWD/4WD and the celica is FWD/4WD, but they're in the same class as those other cars...

My stock VS commodore with the rear bumper held on with duct tape (4 weight savings, yo) can take extremely sharp corners like this one at 200 kph*
*Requires tailwind.
PS:
I know it's pretty geeky of me, but y'all know things like this get to me, so you'll just have to live with it.

Define corner.
People seem to be throwing the word "corner" around in this thread very loosely.

I wouldn't always say so. There's a load of kidiots who pop in ebay coilover sleeves or slice the springs on stock struts. That will suck massively. But for about $2000-4000 here, you can get a clean running 240sx with full Tein or Cusco coils. That'll handle...epically.

Re: Best cars for driving like a lunatic...
Get a '91 Mitsubishi Mirage (or similar; stick shift mandatory) for ~$800, cut open the exhaust system with a hacksaw wherever it's convenient, pull off all the intake crap and just put some mosquito netting over the throttle body, and have fun!
The economy car tires should run you about $30 a pop, and they won't grip for shit, so you can do as many burn-outs and donuts and what-nots as you like. Drive it off the road. Jump curbs. Do whatever the hell you want. It's a beater car for you to get all the stupid shit out of your system so that you don't ruin a good one.

I hope you meant to post an XR6T, because the XRFail is a joke. It has handling and performance akin to the Knock Nevis. Best car for driving like a lunatic would be a first generation Civic on a dirt road. Dirt roads are the shit for cheap fun.

I'd buy an XR8 over a turbo any day of the fucking week, solely because they sound like a V8 should...probably due to the fact that the V8 they use is ancient, but really...
Besides, it would be road bound so any performance difference is negligible.

The Crown Vic suggestion was a good one. I just bought a 97 Police Interceptor model, and have done so much shit to it in the short time since I got it. Old Interceptors are easy to find, and pretty cheap. Get that, you won't die in it if you get into a crash.

I will give you a 30 degree corner with a 15 meter radius. And then I will laugh as you crash.
Or I could give you a 30 degree corner with a 30 meter radius but a 15 degree reverse bank. Again you will hilariously crash.
If you truly believe you can take any corner 'so long as it's not a hairpin corner', then I truly believe you know nothing about how (in terms of physics) cars handle.

Hasn't anyone noticed the amount of money he has to spend here? He should just buy a brandie new WRX STI. 300 horses with a 6-speed trans. Plus they use these cars in off road rally races all the time. It'd be perfect.
