Default Opening a CC in someone elses name

Okay So I was reading in a book the other day about a chick who was being left by her man and she was going to have to pay her bills n shit all on her own while trying to attend college. So she opened up a credit card in his name after he moved out and used it while he was gone. Now he didn't discover it for years after it happened, but if this where a real life scenario what are some precautions someone would have to do to get away with this, what places could the person shop at without being flagged, or carded for his/her ID

Don't know much about this subject but I imagine it would be very very risky. Don't do it. If you want to get into carding there are tons of other ways that are easier than this IMO. And for the stores...shop online.

I don't know how.

Don't they normally want a license and a bank account statement just to collect the card to start with...
And you need to pay monthly anyway?
(Aus at least...)

In the US, you can get a credit card in 30 seconds walking by the cashier in lots of stores. All you need is a drivers license, it'll be mailed to you within the week. If you're approved.

It gets delivered to your door?!

FFS, we need to collect it with our ID(s) at a post office...

The USA is a pretty fucking lax place when it comes to.. everything kinda. Except rape. You have to be a celebrity to pull that off.

Dude, you need ID to get a cc. How did the woman get a fake id that said the man's name? And how did she get it when it was mailed to him? As far as I can see, it would only be worth it if the crime couldn't easily be traced back to you. And this wouldn't be easy to do in a way that hides your real identity.

First off, almost nowhere will make you show ID under a certain amount.

Second, all you need, is there name and SS number.

thats why ID theft is such a problem, cause its so damn easy

yes that is all you need but to make it a full time job(that pays a few hundred thousand a year) it takes careful planning and compartmentalizing of your life, in ways that your average dipshit from BFE is no prepared for; in order to do it and get away with it you have to plan well in advance every step of the process.

Depends on your country. In Australia, you have to pass a 100 point ID check.

Birth certificate = 70 points.
Photo ID = 40.
Utility bill = 25.
etc.

I'd assume in the US you'll need something like birth certificate + photo ID + SSN.

From what I've noticed, Americans are alot more lax than us.

If you want to make the most of it you want to phish all of their details including their driving licence number and then open a bank online with your drop address tied to it, then get a credit card under the new bank; it's easy as hell and 've explained multiple times on the board and over PMs how to open an account in someone elses name online. Don't bother at all tying anything with any prepaid credit cards because these are the first checked for fraud by its IIN.

Get the fuck outta there? Like, get the $10 000 or whatever a CC is and leave the country?

May as well take your time, it's a different bank account and the bill won't be going to the other person. It's advisable you keep it local but this type of thing concerning credit cards and by stealing their ID can be doable overseas because it's a completely new credit card under a completely new bank. Everything can be done online also. Just take your safety precautions with spoofed MAC address, wifi connection and sock proxies, so even when what's happening is found out about then you can find out if the card is cancelled and get the fuck out of there. It's ideal all money going into the new account is also laundered through offshore bank accounts, which is explained in an archived thread.

You can take out loans too. You might need to forge a paycheck for that.
