What you do is wait for them to go on holiday, then repaint their entire house using a paint with a subtly darker tone than before, replace all of their lightbulbs with slightly brighter ones, move all of their furniture to slightly different positions, and then exit without leaving a sign that you were there.

It's called gaslighting, and it's great fun.
