I was talking with my dad about the Manson family murders because apparently one of them is coming up for parole. I got to thinking about how things could've been different and those Manson clowns been shot dead had only one of their victims been a responsible, gun owning American.

Feeling a bit glum, I decided to read up on some stories about Americans defending themselves. I found these two

"The Boyd County sheriff's department reports 23-year-old Jason Daniels was tied up by two men who had impersonated police officers and pounded on the door. When Daniels didn't open the door, the two smashed the door open. Sheriff Terry Keelin says they tied up Daniels in the bathroom and began ransacking the house, but Daniels was able to free himself and obtain his nine millimeter pistol."

On a personal note.

I've never had to draw from concealment and present my firearm.


Chances are I probably never will.


But there have been a few times where it was very comforting knowing I had it on me.

Late night ATM incident.
Late night Walmart trip.
Being followed by some guy after a quick trip to the convenient store (late night) -- twice -- multiple months apart.

All the freaks come out at night.

Sadly I enough doing most of my activities late (not as hot out / less traffic and people).

Indeed. Another reason why I like the cold, the creeps tend to stay inside.

Sometimes I hate florida (too hot and over populated) but I am happy I am granted the privilege to carry adequate defense.

For if I lived in wisconsin (one of many examples) I would have to hold the creeps back with my cellphone and 911.
