Anyone Elses fingers get bruised while playing Marvel Vs Capcom?
I've been playing Marvel vs Capcom 2 for two days now in maybe three separate one hour gameplays each day. From the constant barrage of pressing all the triggers and buttons my fingers got so beat up , they all are in pain and cramped into an arch position , the fingers that rest under the triggers are bruised from aggressive holding on the Xbox controller.
WHAT THE FUCK , this game is designed to just abuse your hands into getting arthritis. Has anyone else gotten this?
Even the game itself pisses me off. I loaded it up since its on my modded xbox and i see i can purchase megaman if i have enough points so i do a couple rounds and go and buy him , then i see i can purchase sabretooth , so i play alittle more and buy him. And it just keeps continually going in this cycle. I'm playing a game to earn characters in a game I dont even want to play.

I've found that after several-hour long sessions of any Street Fighter game my fingers hurt. Dunno if it's better or worse on the XBox, I mostly play with PS2 and Dreamcast.
Your hands should get used to it after awhile.
As far as buying stuff...try exiting that screen and going back in. The stuff you can buy should change each time. Yeah...it is kinda annoying, but you should eventually get what you want.
There's a cheat on the Dreamcast version where you can go into practice mode and then just let the game sit. Go watch a movie, play on your computer, jerk off, whatever. After a few hours, just exit the practice mode and you'll have a lot of points racked up.
Don't know if they fixed that in later versions...

A lot of people complained about that song, but I kinda liked it. However, I downloaded a remix version for my Dreamcast which changes the soundtrack and even some of the backdrops. It's much better.

PS3 version would be worse, I bet. I used the D-PAD on it, it's hard as hell, and its not a good controller for human hands anyway.

It's just the xbox's controller size makes it so your fingers are always arched and your constantly putting pressure on them , beyond that my middle fingers are on that hump underneath the trigger and its pushed into it viciously creating some painful bruises.
I think its just the xbox controller if anything. After a few minutes my hand cramps , Also im aware of exiting and entering the store will increase and decrease the amount of points for each player

The only game that made my hands and fingers sore was Mortal Kombat: Deception.
It was the PS2 pads too which are really comfortable too which is weird.

ITT: Scrubs
There's no way around this except time, unfortunately. Even with a proper arcade stick, the tips of my fingers used to get sore with MvC2. This is the only fighter to do so
On that note...anyone up for some MvC2? My PSN is ObsidianZ.

The team that works best for me at the moment is Colossus , Cable , and War Machine
Originally it was Cable , Venom , Storm
I just like storm for her ability to avoid most offense and she makes for good assists , same for cable.

Re: Anyone Elses fingers get bruised while playing Marvel Vs Capcom?
That's because the 360 controller is fucking horrible for fighters. the shape of it is akward. the buttons are rounded out causing your fingers to slip after the lightest of sweats. the shaft-portion of the joystick is coated in rubber causing it to drag refusingly along the guides. the D-pad (which outright fucking sucks) and triggers (clanky) are nearly as bad as the Genesis and Dreamcast's were, respectively.
try pulling off a move that requires 360-degree joystick roll (let alone 720) on a 360 (or original Xbox) controller. I started fighters on the Microsoft consoles and found multiple techniques and executions to be nearly impossible -- before realizing they're not so much that, because:
the Playstation controller on the other hand ualshock 3, especially -- is absolutely amazing for fighters. no, seriously.
for fighters on the Wii. stay the FUCK AWAY from the classic controller. seriously, it's a nightmare. go with the (not too much more ideal) Gamecube controller if you have to.

Really , i thought the gamecube was perfect for Fighters. It's shape wasnt minimal or discrete but its performance was pretty good. The only problem i have is with the triggers seeing as there directly on top of the controller and the springs a bit of a hassle.

Keepaway teams . Bane of my existence.
Storm is the best char in the game. She's so versatile. Pixie, runaway, battery, decent assists, and Hail.
Cable is really popular online. He plays an easy keepaway game, and AHVB is just scrubtacular.

Not even close. 3D fighters are mashable. Try to mash in MvC2 against a proper player and you'll get steamrolled. Controlled chaos is the best description for MvC2.

Yeah , His assists are pretty solid and he makes for a good wingman in your lineup. His specials with that gun are fantastic as well. Normally I start out using someone like Colossus since he is a beast. I dont really know much of this game but i dont even enjoy playing it , once i unlock everything im done. I'm just so wrapped up in getting all the characters to see whats available. If I had Live i'd be a different story though

PS- I play with the team;
Magneto, Omega Red, Sentinel
Or
Jill, Cable, Omega Red
Love Omega for his ridiculous reach, and I just find him so easy to use. Sentinel I'm still getting used to.

Re: Anyone Elses fingers get bruised while playing Marvel Vs Capcom?
I've just beefed up my game from Noob to novice. I found beating abyss was easiest with the combo of Hulk for the first round , Storm with cable assisting for the 2nd , Then judging if there all left (usually just had storm/cable left) I'd just use cables gun and storms hail storms when the final abyss character was about to pounce.
Worked pretty well , I havent unlocked half the characters yet but Idk , this game sucks but I'm lured in to see what the rest of the characters moves our

Re: Anyone Elses fingers get bruised while playing Marvel Vs Capcom?
Leaving training mode on overnight is the easiest way to unlock characters if you want to be cheap about it. It worked on the ps2 version for me at least (I think someone posted this already).
My team is usually Ryu (used to him because I played Street Fighter 4 a lot), Gambit and Guile.
I use Gambit to start because his main special does a lot of damage. He has a nice pop-up hit with the staff, which Guile assists with his wheel kick, and Ryu catches the enemy with a fireball on the way down.

Abyss is easy...doesn't block .
Ryu is actually pretty shitty in this game. You can't play MvC2 like regular street fighter. Gambit is okay, he's got an infinte. But his Royal Flush super was really nerfed from the first game. And his "pop up" is a launcher. Every character has one. After a launcher, hit up and you'll automatically super jump so you can follow up with an air combo.
Ah man, I really want to face some totseans. Come on, some of you guys have to have a PS3! Lets get some MAHVEL up innis shit! I just broke #2000 on the scoreboards today after a couple days of playing.

I don't have a PS3, but there's always this.
A few MvC characters are in this one.
Not a bad game, but you should get a controller because playing Street Fighter on a keyboard sucks ass.

SFO? *shudder*
I'm sorry, but that game is a pile of shit. Glitched to hell, jab infinites, no hit or block stun, laggy. There are no redeeming qualities.
We should use MAME with kaillera.

Mmmmm....MAME...
I remember a game that someone was working on that was going to be a mashup of different game licences from Zelda, to Mario, to Final Fantasy, to Devil May Cry. Looked interesting but, last I saw it was still in development for MAME.
Anybody remember this?

MUGEN RAAAAAAGE
It's available for download. Tons of characters from all sorts of franchises are downloadable too. Most of the stuff is player-made. Which means the quality is SHIT. It's almost as glitched as SFO.
I'm such a fighter snob .
Hey Johnathan Doerty, do you play on PS3? We should have some matches if you do. Just a word of warning: Juggs only works on scrubs ^^. He's got his headcrush super, but other than that he's not that great.

I actually stopped playing with Ryu recently. I know every character has a pop-up attack, but I like popping them up with Gambit, having Guile do a flash kick - if that missed, use the staff hit (Y on xbox) and the opponent goes flying. This is likely true with a few characters, but I like Gambit. My third now is Cyclops.

Good stuff. Cyke has one of the best anti-air assists in the game.
