The penalties are the same for either, cops can pull you over and the ticket is $750 USD. Should they be two separate laws?

I feel that talking on the phone while driving should be legal still, and that $750 USD for texting is way too harsh, but it should still be illegal.

It's been illegal here for years and they should be the same law. If you don't want to pay 750 bucks simply don't do it. You're generally driving for 10 minutes tops, if you can't put down your phone for 10 minutes you deserve to wrap yourself around a stop light.

10 minutes tops? I don't even live in a big city, but often am driving for 30+ minutes at a time.

It was my first and only cell phone, and I only had it for 2 months. Phones piss me off like nothing else can. They just seem so rude to me.

They ring and bother you when you want to be alone without even asking if it is okay. No other invention has annoyed me as a phone can. I'd be sitting somewhere in the middle of a conversation and out of nowhere this annoying fucking NOISE tells me that I need to direct my attention elsewhere and grrr. I hate phones. People calling me for stupid things I don't care about, and I don't dare turn my phone off sometimes in case someone has an emergency or something important to talk about (they never do).

Cell phones (and even normal phones) fucking suck.

texting while driving is ridiculous, but talking on the phone is a little more controversial. personally as it would be seen as "wrong" to ban women from driving at all i think it's necessary.
