Lightbulb Guide to Concealing and Securing your Property.

I type this really, really quick I'm sure there are errors. Just wanted to add something before DFG closes the BI Guide thingy.

Introduction

Sometimes when your underage, or still under your parents roof you need to keep certain things private. Unfortunately parents can play a huge roll in violating that privacy. And depending on what your hiding, could make or break you. In this brief guide I will attempt to go over some good places to hide things, how to keep your cell phone secure, and way to see if anyones been going threw your belongings.

Hiding Small Objects

There are hundreds of places to hide smaller things. I will list a few basic places.

*Installing a false wall outlet, with removable cover and hollow behind.

*Taped behind a picture.

*Cut a hole under a chair and hide within the lining.

*Under your dresser.

*In your toilet tank in a Ziplock bag.

*Inside your CPU (No magnetic things, or weed!)

*A gutted VHS tape.

*DVD case on a shelf of DVD cases.

*An electronic that holds batteries, hide within the compartment.

*Hold deodorant container. (Not the see threw kind)

*Inside a box of cereal, chips, ect. Then put back.

*Within a stuffed animal.

*Back of a ps2, or other game consoles have small compartments in there back.

*Velcro to the bottom of furniture.

*Create a false bottom in your trash can.

*Inside clothes in a closet.

*Pinned behind papers on a bulletin board.

*Some shoes can have small compartments in them, or be modded.

*Top edge of door frames.

*Ziplock bagged in your gutter.

The list can go on. The more out of the box you are the better chance you have at being successful.

A good investment is also a diversion safe.

Checkem out.

Containing Larger Objects

Say you purchased a sword. Your parent don't approve and want to confiscate it. There are a few ways to secure larger objects.

Personally what I did was buy a fairly large locked chest. I got mine from a garage sale. Its about 4 foot long, 3 foot wide. I keep it in the back of my closet and fill it with whatever I want. There a main lock that has a custom key thats bent to a 90 degree angle.

Take advantage of the age of your parents. Mine are pretty old and cannot lift something the size of the chest. Its filled with what I want and weighs in at about 145 pounds. My parents aren't getting this thing anywhere. Be sure to hide the key in the best possible place you can imagine. And don't lose it.

Things like liquor can he hidden in many places. Such as.

Air vents
Woods
Under shed.
Wrapped in a comforter in closet.
In attic packed with Xmas stuff. (Obviously pick the holiday thats furtherest away.)
Unbottle it and use creative methods of storing it.
If you have false lift up ceilings, using a plank can support a good amount of weight.

Also see about removing floorboards.

Way To Tell If People Are Entering Your Room

When your renting out a place within in a home, or are still at home yourself having people go threw your things can be a serious issue, especially if you have something to hide.

Here are a few tips and tricks to tell if anyone has entered your room.

If you have a messy room, crumple a ball of paper and close the door. If when you enter the ball is completely moved. Someone has been in your room.

Take some tape and put a little bit on your door.

Put led in your doorknob.

Install a lock.

Installing a small camera to watch your room while your out. It may be pricey but if you want to have proof of entry and know exactly what they were doing, you have it. Just turn it off when you look up your Asian fetish porn.

How To Tell If Your Phone Is Tapped

Sometimes people take drastic measures to find out whats really going on. In my case this proved true. Parents can easily tap the home phone with 20 bucks and a trip to Radio Shack. Sometimes roommates or siblings are just plain nosey. Heres a few ways to detect a tap.

Note: If the FBI is tapping you, more than likely your already fucked. This is for the average phreaker or moron with recording device.

Call 1-202-543-9994. This number is a good way to detect a tap. Call it and it will let off a long tone. If the tone is broken or disrupted by anything, your phone could be tapped. If its a solid tone with no chops, skips or static your alright.

You can purchase phone tap detectors if what your talking about is really that important.

A few more tell tale signs are, random calls that hang up, static, and wierd noises, along with dropped calls.

Keeping Your Computer Safe

This isn't a guide to keeping your computer safe from hackers, just the average pair of prying eyes. Here are some basics of security. We don't want mom to find the neighbors daughters naughty photos do we?

We can first start by encrypting those files that we don't want anyone to see. I know when I heard the word encrypt I thought "Oh fuck, I'm going to have to know code, blah blah." Wrong!

www.truecrypt.org/

Its so simple, yet so effective. Honestly the best security feature I have excluding my firewall. Simply put, you can create a file, set a password to it, put your pr0n in, and then make invisible.

To discuss TruCrypt, go here: http://zoklet.net/bbs/showthread.php?t=67531

Clearing your internet history is pretty important. I think everyone should know this one.

Go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Browsing History you are done.

Or Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Clean Up

Tools > Clear Private Data

deleting files off your computer. Good thing to know.

1. Tools>internet options> delete cookies, delete files.
2. My computer>C:/>tools>folder options>view>click "do not show hidden files", if a prompt comes up, click yes or ok
3. My computer>C:/>documents and settings>Owner or your name (must have admin rights) >cookies> highlight them all (ctrl+a, delete, ok)
4. My computer>C:/>documents and settings>Owner>local settings>temp> Ctrl+A again, delete ok, You might not be able to delete them all at the same time,
5. hit the up arrow takes you back>click Temp. internet files> ctrl+A delete>
6. hit the up arrow>click history> delete whatever site you dont want him to find, Ctrl A and delete them all>done..
if it wont delete, do the same steps and delete them once your done with the internet.

Also a program mentioned somewhere in Zoklet I think by Syphilis was Eraser.

It erases files permanently by reusing the freespace that the old file was made into, over and over.

Other useful tips..

Lets say you download a file called SUPERHOTASIANFUCKINGLITTLETEENCHILDPORNTITWETPUSSY .

You save it and hide it in a folder. A quick search of any of those words will being it up. Change the damn name.

Do not write down, or mention passwords or usernames to parents or anyone else who you don't want knowing about anything.

Check for physical keyloggers in the USB ports and keyboard.

Set a bios password. This will deny access to anyone trying to boot up your computer. There are a few ways around it, but if you have your CPU physically locked, you should be ok.

How to set BIOS Password: http://www.trap17.com/index.php/set-...os_t41612.html

Set a user account password. This can be yet another road block for people trying to get into your computer.

Set a screensaver password. If you leave the room and someone trys to enter your computer, have a screensaver password set.

Encrypt and physically lock your USB devices. See the TruCrypt link above along with Hiding Small Objects.

Once again physically lock your CPU frame. That way, hard drives can't be removed and it gives you another place to hide small things.

Securing Your Phone

Many times parent go threw phones when they are left behind just out of curiosity. Or beacuse they think your selling drugs. Stay a step ahead!

Password
Secure Passwords with the password Keeper Utility.
Shutdown bluetooth when not in use.
Encrypt Data on phone.
Clear your memory
Password your SIM.
Backup Your files
Get Phone guardian http://www.sharewareconnection.com/phone-guardian.htm

Those simple steps will make hiding your drug dealers and tit pictures, much, much easier.

Closing Notes

Well so far out of bordum and wanting to contribute something to the BI community, I wrote and researched this in a few hours. Its now almost 2am, and I'm wanting some fucking Ramen Noodles. You can contact me by registering and account at Zoklet.net and finding Pandora's Assassin. Were always looking for new members. I hope I at least sparked a thought with this guide, or something. 1. Mac users will need PGP to do system encryption, since Truecrypt for OS X doesn't do it (it just creates encrypted file containers and encrypts non-system disks.)
2. Don't re-use your whole disk encryption password for ANYTHING else. Example: you don't want your super-secure password to get phished over facebook, or sniffed over a network connection.

Great piece of software.

Spot on. Don't give ANYONE your password. Including girlfriends, best friends, parents, etc. I won't go into details, but one mistake, even an innocent one, can land you in a whole world of hurt. Maybe your girlfriend logs into you email and gets tricked by a phishing email. Maybe your parents google your favourite online screen name and come across you posting slutty photos of yourself for guys on the internet to whack off over. Etc.

If you have full disk encryption, you don't need a long complicated account password. If the attacker knows how to perform a successful cold boot attack or has the computer power to brute force the password (which could happen if you have a short/common password), they'll be though an account password in no time.
