I have a cheap wig I bought off of eBay and 2 clear lens glasses I either got off of eBay and/or Amazon. They were about $10 each. Do a search for "clear lens glasses", "fake glasses", and "men's wig" on Amazon and eBay.
Something like these would work fine:

In terms of clothing you can't go wrong with chinos or khakis and a polo shirt. Really lets you blend in and seem inconspicuous.

After I walked up to the cashiers and paid for that item, and another one I was carrying around, but I knew the trap had already been set. After I paid for the item I chose to "steal" I put it back in my pouch, and as expected I was confronted by someone who grabbed me and pulled me back demanding the merchandise.
I pulled out the reciept and even called on the cashier I had just purchased it from, and starting causing a scene. Eventually the manager came over, and it looks like that store is once again an LP free store.

|
Actually this is a very clever way to flush out the LP's from your store. Then next time you go for a real steal, you'll be able to identify them and avoid them. This could work great in a WalMart, although it may require a few visits at different times and different days to sniff out all of them. This, in conjunction with the laser method 313 mentioned, basically unlocks the store for you. Now walk in with an s3 key, a Malice disguise and a little Scumbag swagger, and you are READY FOR PRIME TIME!

Hopefully all stores will start upgrading their tags, they're much easier to remove if you have a Superloc detacher. I've never even tried to remove a gator, but it doesn't seem as easy or fast.
Anyways, same old horrible security. I really recommend this place for stealing high quality athletic clothes and other goods. If you want stuff for resale try taking knives and expensive clothes. He got some ventilated under armour compression shorts because he's extremely picky about what underwear he uses and the only ones he's really found comfortable were the ventilated leggings, which have a similar design. He tried them on and can really see the difference. He can't stand having underwear creep up his ass crack at all, not even a tiny bit like most do. Doesn't know how ladies stand it. Wore a disguise again, stands out, but it's Frisco. Calms him down and makes him look much less malicious.
BTW, these are in high crime areas. So if securty's bad here it'll probably be bad everywhere.

Do you know if anyone actively monitors the cameras? Would using sleight of hand, picking up 2 of one item & slipping 1 in the coat sleeve be pushing it? It's cold & rainy here this weekend so coat wouldn't look odd.

Re: The Shoplifters Thread
I really really doubt they pay someone to actively monitor the cameras, but if they notice someone suspicious or the manager is that type of person then they may be watched. the employees are usually young people that don't seem to give much a shit. I doubt they'd do anything even if they were a bit suspicious of you. Go nuts.

There's still Dick's Sporting Good's, Sports Chalet, and Big 5.
Anyone know of other chains?

I use a homemade S3 key made with 4 N52s from KJ.

Are you including spiderwraps as a tag? Have you tried it on tags that usually require a countersunk detacher?

Re: The Shoplifters Thread
my friend uses 4 of http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetai...08-N52&cat=168 in a two by two array for his s3 key and it works very well (spider tags included) and he finds it to be plenty small - more than enough room in his front shirt pocket and it can deactivate cases through his shirt. No sense in buying the real thing.
He does not have a magnet to remove magnetic tags yet.
NOTE: these are two very different things. The s3 key has a magnetic field such that it isn't useful for the task of removing magnetic tags.

Shining a green laser pointer at domes is what Texas did when scoping out varies Wally World's. He was then able to eliminate which domes were real & which weren't.

Re: The Shoplifters Thread
A lot of dumb shit in here. I've been lurking around zoklet for a couple months and i started reading this thread. I'm a former LPO I've caught and been involved in over 400+ apprehensions. I know mostly Sears , Kmart and some Home Depot. If you have any questions about policies i may be able to answer some (i've been out of the loop for the past year) so i can give what i know, i no longer work LP. I got in LP because it was a fun cowboy type job. I wasn't in it to snag criminals or be some super hero faggot. I liked investigating and the adrenaline it came with. Hopefully i can help some fellow scum bags.

Also, how many people usualky work there as LP?
|
I understand but i have no benefit of telling anyone here this information so , take it how you want. Sears , it all depends what kind of store it is , high risk / low risk. High risk stores are usually stores in neighborhoods or stores in an urban area. Low risk obviously low crime areas. A high risk depending on which kind of store whether it be a one level or 3 level mall store. A one level store , usually and old store if a high risk store it will run usually 2 staffed day time , that would be a LP manger and a loss prevention associate . Nights can be up too 2 staffed or just 1 LPA. 3 level stores you are looking at 2 on most of the time , 3-4 on Saturdays , or times when the stores will be filled. Usually a Sears is always staffed at all times if it's a mall. There are some great LPO's at sears but also note Sears is a lower paying company so they do hire some bozo's. Some Sears policies , They can't touch you anymore , also can not give chase. Under $15-20 usually won't prosecute , unless you are 16 y/o dick head with a bad attitude. Camera's many PTZ's , newer stores hardly have many fake domes. Most sears have really good camera systems.

I know how the tags work, but I'm wondering if it opens all of them. There are some tags that have a nub that are designed for a countersunk detacher. Have you come across them?

haha, right on shady. i always had to hide my hobby from significant others, it sucks. try gamestop, some of the smaller stores. i used to get a ton from there, and my store didn't have any type of security devices.

Re: The Shoplifters Thread
I haven't ordered 'em yet, but I'm planning to buy a 5-pack of these N52s. 4 for an S3 (I know a few people have posted about using less but I'd rather not risk being caught while experimenting) and one as a backup/for magnetic/ink tags. Like I've said before, I'm not much into clothes lifting (though I might if I can find a vulnerable store with clothes worth lifting) so all I really need is an S3 key.
I am not ashamed to say I was making lightsaber noises when I found this in the smiley list.
Last thing, how do you guys think a little social engineering would work against LP?
Ex: "Hi, this is Rob with Cornerstone Security. Corporate has hired us to do some independent security consulting and we need a little information from you guys. Can I speak with your Loss Prevention Team Leader? :asks questions concerning most watched products, camera placement, # of LP on floor, etc."

LOL... would this be a phone call or a face-to-face? Truthfully, I think it would be highly unlikely that you'd get anywhere. Not that it's a bad idea, but I just don't see them divulging any information whatsoever. Plus, if they called your bluff - especially during an in-person encounter - I think it's safe to say you'd be fucked. Better to troll the lp forums out there and get information posing as a new lp learning the ropes.

^^^ won't work they will ask for credentials..You know you can call most stores and ask for LP? If they won't personally take a call at first , tell the person answering store call you are local Law enforcement. If no one takes it there's a good chance no one is there. This has worked for a shoplifter i know.

Hi DirtyHands, StainlessSteal would like to give you a dirty handshake welcome as well! So if I understand correctly, one would be better off attempting to extract security information over the phone than in person. And if the LP on duty doesn't pick up...???...

Obviously a phone call, I'd figure that'd be apparent... if they called the bluff it's easy to bail out... using boosted cash to buy a prepaid phone with fake details. So, what kind of procedure would stores follow in a situation like this?
